Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Color

Do you need a flushed look, and the sun just ain’t cooperating?
Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Color is a pot of color that is creamy soft, and helps to create that always-important flushed look in a soft, natural way. It also comes with a loose cheek powder to add to complete the look.
(Because an unnatural flush looks suspiciously like you are just drunk.)
I am all about the understated but gorgeous glow. Plus, it’s totally a travel friendly product, and great for quick touch ups!
It comes in a sienna shade, and apricot – both seem to be surprisingly friendly to a variety …read more

MMU Loot from Beauty & Minerals!

It’s so much fun being a woman. Esp a woman who loves makeup and gets free ones, at that!
I told you guys about the pink brush set I got as a gift, right? It came with MMU samplers. MMU is Mineral Make Up (just so we’re all on the same page). Anyway, thanks to Sophie, who has been quite generous in supplying me with fabulous MMU ever since she introduced it to me months ago.
Among the new samples, I’m loving the Sand Beige, which I wore recently with my new maxi dress. I love the blatant shimmer-slash-glitter! Last night, …read more

Bento Beauty Tool: Japanese Makeup Brushes by Hakuhodo

(1) Itabake, Large; (2) Itabake, Small;
(3) Yachiyo, Medium Pointed; (4) For craftsman, Lip brush, Medium
In my research about Geisha makeup, I stumbled upon this great site that offers authentic or traditional Japanese makeup brushes. Hakuhodo has made the availability of Japanese Asian beauty tools possible in the West.
I reckon since these makeup tools are still being used by Kabuki actors, makeup artists in Hollywood and us common folk for the very same reasons why they were made. Of course, they’re commonly used for the purposes of putting on Geisha-Maiko makeup, but it can also be used …read more

Bronze-ify with Brush On Beads by The Body Shop

Brush-On Beads
The Body Shop
Shimmering, colored powder beads with light diffusing particles and pearl pigments to brighten and add color to the face, cheeks, and decolletage.
I’ve been eyeing a pot of the Brush-On Beads over at The Body Shop for quite sometime now. Finally, I’ve bought one and tried the product out and I’ve got a thing or two to say about it. Colour is something I value in the use of makeup. I go for the more natural look, hopefully, I’d look fresh and polished. I love blushes and eye makeup. But let’s focus on the former today.

Michelle Phan’s Natural Looking Makeup Tutorial

Did you see how she just focused on eye makeup? Applying that liquid eyeliner and mascara did wonders to the look. The makeup merely made her look fresh and not overly made up. Very natural, indeed!
Remember the first tip — Cleanse, tone and moisturise!
Concealer application tip: Use the ring finger and apply the concealer lightly and in a rolling motion.
Rule of thumb for eyebrows: three shades lighter than your hair colour.
Let me know if you get around to applying this tutorial.

My Latest Loot from The Body Shop

It’s not much really. I just knew that I needed to buy a new tube of concealer and the other two were somewhat of a necessity, too. Er, well, not the beads, though.
What I’ve bought:
Tea Tree Oil Cover Stick
Skin Sponge
Brush-On Beads
I’ve been using the Cover Stick for years now, seven to be exact. I reckon the product has earned my loyalty. The sponge is an obvious purchase since I love baths, right? With all the liquid soaps and a variety of scrubs and bath tools I have, I’m bound to explore further till I find a perfect bath partner.
And the …read more
