Bounty of Budget Beauty

Right now, everyone is looking for those great tips that will help them say goodbye top pricey brands and find love with lower-cost-but-just-as-fabulous drugstore options.
My good friend Amber of Beauty Blogging Junkie – and the just crowned senior beauty editor of DailyMakeover.com – recently appeared on TMIWeekly and shared some of her advice.
Her choices are among my favorites as well, so I am sharing the episode here!
At the end of the episode, the gang asked viewers to share some of their favorite beauty budget tips. What are some of yours?

Eastern Experiments for 2008!

The year 2008 is drawing to a close. I can’t believe that it’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow! Times like these does make you want to think back to what had transpired in the year that’s ending, yes? I decided to look back at all the products that I had experimented (and shared to you beauties) this year. It’s been quite a year of journey into makeup and skincare (and then some); getting to know my skin better and taking care of it more PLUS exploring makeup further, honing what skills I have as a makeup artist (more on that later!).
Anyway, …read more

I reckon after all the …read more

DOVE Get Fresh!
First off, it’s important to note that this contest is only open to residents of Australia. However, I just found it really interesting (hence the feature!) cuz of the interface. Love the water thing-y. LOL. I reckon this contest captured my heart cuz I love photography. I also happen to love Dove products, too. Which reminds me, there’s a couple of products I’m planning to do a review on. Stay tune for that.
Anyway, qualified registrants are asked to submit photos that can fall under “cool”, “energise”, or “fresh touch”. Then viewers get to rate the photo. Well, …read more

It’s been a few months since I shared my First Impressions on DOVE Beauty Body Wash, Calming Night and now I’m confident that I can give a more objective review.

Greenpeace Versus Unilever, Dove

Greenpeace Versus Unilever, Dove

Have you guys seen the Dove Onslaught advert?

You have to commend Dove for their efforts in furthering the importance of self-esteem when it comes to true beauty. However, I recently learned about this issue that Greenpeace.org has raised against Unilever.
“Unilever, the company behind products like Dove soap, is driving forest destruction and speeding up climate change by buying palm oil from companies which are destroying Indonesia’s rainforests to make way for palm oil plantations. By their own admission, Unilever is the biggest single user of palm oil in the world.” — Greenpeace.org
They’ve just released a clip, Onslaughter.

First Impressions: DOVE Beauty Body Wash, Calming Night

DOVE
Beauty Body Wash
Calming Night™
Stress and sleep deprivation can hijack skin’s moisture.
Hence, Calming Night Body Wash. It’s a smoothing, soothing blend of Dove 1/4 moisture cream to renew the skin’s lost moisture and a sensuous fragrance to calm a tired soul.
Use nightly. In skincare — and in soul care — every night is everything.
My friends know just how much of a night person I am. I’m usually up at night and asleep during the day. Poses a bit of a dilemma when there’s an event scheduled in the morning, which I have to attend. I usually end up missing sleep then. …read more

Dove Soap, Gentle Exfoliating

Speaking of soaps, if there are luxury soaps to be had, there are economical ones. Of course, when I say economical that doesn’t mean we’re sacrificing the quality cuz, hey, we’re talking about something you use to take care of the largest organ of your body and general hygiene!
Dove is a brand that I’ve grown to trust. I love most of their bath products. I use Dove facial foams, liquid soap and soap bars. I always love how my skin feels and smells after every use. And I haven’t really experienced my skin drying from usage, hence, the trust.
I would …read more
