de-luxe Rosemary Mint Shampoo

I am digging this shampoo so much. I have been using it for a good little bit, in conjunction with a Bumble & Bumble shampoo (that incidentally costs 3 times the price of this one), and honestly, this one has really captured my heart. I adore rosemary – and mint is a surprisingly good companion. I have seen the combination in a lot of products lately, and it really is great. This shampoo has the ultra slightest tingle to it, it is not all frothy and cheap feeling (I hate overly frothy – read, cheap – shampoos), and did I mention it smells amazing?

This shampoo sells for $9.99 (at drugstore.com) for a big 14 ounce bottle that lasts a good long time. Don’t use too much – this shampoo is more of a higher end shampoo, you don’t need a big palm full to do the job.

Neutrogena Light Sesame Formula Body Lotion

I received an email today inquiring about Neutrogena’s Light Sesame Body Lotion, and I hadn’t thought about that product in such a long time. Neutrogena always does lotion right – and this one is no exception, but it has been difficult to impossible to find in local stores of late. The reader with the question was looking for a comparable item, and to my knowledge, there really isn’t one. Kiehls makes one that is similarly textured, but the price is so much higher. There are other lotions with sesame oil, but none with the light consistancy of this one. If you know of one, please leave the info in the comments, I would love to know about it, and I bet others sure would too!

Luckily, you can still find this product in quite a few destinations, at Drugstore.com, Amazon.com (they have it in a 32 oz bottle) and Ulta.com. You will pay somewhere between $5-$6 for an 8oz bottle, and it is no doubt well worth it!

Contact Lenses

Glasses are cool and all – I have a couple of pairs I love, but I just don’t feel like I am “with it” until I put in my contacts. And my false eyelashes bat against the lenses anyway – who wants that?? When I get a new pair of cool glasses I will wear them around for awhile and feel grand about them, but in the hot Texas summer there is nothing like a contact lens or two. It is time to reorder, and I always get mine through Vision Direct, which is a Drugstore.com property, so I feel great about ordering from them, and they have never done me wrong. I am out of lenses, and am heading to the beach next week, so new contacts are a must, so am ordering them right now:

Diamancel Foot File

InStyle has sucked me in on the Diamancel Foot File
which has made their best beauty buys list. At a whopping $36, it is 3 times the price of my favorite foot file, but it looks very well worth it, especially if it really lasts forever, which it really might, with the diamond dust. The potential weakness here is what attaches the diamond dust to the handle.

Here is their description:

Made with real, industrial-grade diamond dust, this foot file has a strong grit that helps dissolve calluses with just a few strong swipes. Although it’s pricey, experts say this file is worth the cost because it files off skin evenly, doesn’t retain bacteria (since it’s used dry) and lasts forever.

Looks like another thing to add to the drugstore.com shopping list! Has anyone tried this?

Zim’s Crack Creme

Have you tried Zim’s Crack Creme? It is the most interesting stuff – it is a very light feeling oil (not super oily) and comes in a spray bottle, but recently has come out in a cream form that I haven’t tried. I love the spray oil. I had it recommended to me years ago by a hairdresser who constantly battled cracked hands from all of the water and chemicals that she was in to every day. I keep it on my bedside table and spray it on my feet and elbows every night before bed, and it truly is miraculous. It is on my drugstore.com shopping list at the moment, and I realized that I don’t think I have ever mentioned it before. The best part, aside from the fact that it works well is that it is inexpensive – $5.89 at drugstore.com!
