One of the well-spread myth of hair care is the 100 Brush Strokes to achieve healthier and shinier hair. I’ve heard it said that subjecting your hair to brushing of 100 strokes will help initiate natural body oil to be secreted from the scalp and the act of brushing will spread it onto each strand straight down to the tips.
If there’s something I’ve observed about brushing, it’s the frizzy state it can create on the hair with the static generated from frequent rubbing, particularly when it’s the wrong sort of material for a brush you are using. So, yea, it [...]
Post from: eBeautyDaily

One of the well-spread myth of hair care is the 100 Brush Strokes to achieve healthier and shinier hair. I’ve heard it said that subjecting your hair to brushing of 100 strokes will help initiate natural body oil to be secreted from the scalp and the act of brushing will spread it onto each strand straight down to the tips.

If there’s something I’ve observed about brushing, it’s the frizzy state it can create on the hair with the static generated from frequent rubbing, particularly when it’s the wrong sort of material for a brush you are using. So, yea, it is important to take note of the kind of brush you use on your hair.

Interestingly, you don’t really need to brush one hundred times to get a shiny hair because it can be achieved in just 50 brush strokes, all the same. There you go. With half the effort, you will get the same result. Minus the potential danger of breakage, inducing damage or ending up with a dry and frizzy hair. Quite the opposite of what you originally planned, yeah?

Asians are known for their dark, and oh-so-straight hair that others seem to think that “being born with it” means there’ll be none of that dry and frizzy days. But we still do get to experience such days (weeks even) esp if we develop poor nutrition, extensively expose it to sun and pollution, subject it to frequent styling or chemical treatments, and, sometimes, over-washing. Hence, we need help in this particular follicle battle.

A couple of key things to this predicament are moisture and lubricants. As much as we’d like to remove the rough texture on hair that develops over time, results can take time before we can fully achieve the healthy hair. Operative word being “healthy”, which means we need proper diet and nutrition, ample sleep and water intake, which will help give us better and more lustrous hair.

However, there are a couple of great products that I’m thankful to have come across and today, I’d like to put the spotlight on one. It’s the L’Oréal Kérastase Nutritive Sérum Oléo-Relax. My hairdresser recommended it to me back in 2000 and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Maintaining a 20-inch hair length then is no laughing matter. Not to mention the extensive styling needed to perform on it during my projects, aside from the normal daily styling I needed to do as I revert back to my corporate self. I knew I needed a healthy hair regimen so I can bring back my hair’s softness and luster. Because of time constraints and other practical reasons, I knew I can’t go to the salon for daily hair treatments.

The Sérum Oléo-Relax does everything that’s enumerated above. It has that oily texture (though it doesn’t feel uncomfortably greasy at all), which creates an impression that it can be absorbed and can stay on your hair for an extensive period of time, controlling, conditioning and protecting it. I particularly like the fact that it leaves my hair smooth and glossy plus that it smells really good, too! (None of that scent that would remind you of tacky salons) The scent distinctly reminds me of oranges. It’s so quick and easy to apply.

<ins>Bento Beauty Tip</ins>: Apply 2-4 pumps to towel-dried hair, focusing on mid-lengths and ends. Style as usual.
