How unbelievably cool and sexy are these???
I am beyond smitten with these night sky-colored eyelashes with star motifs. They will create a fabulous twinkle on the edges of the eyes that will make you the star of ANY party!
shu uemura Mini Star Glitz False Eyelashes are not for the office – unless I guess you work in a very unique sort of company – but can sexy up that little black dress in no time at all.
I used to think funky false eyelashes weren’t for me – I’m a pretty shy girl – but I was blown away the first …read more
Smashbox Untamed Eye Brightener

Whether it’s fatigue or just plain stress, we all need some brightening and highlighting sometimes.
I love this double-ended brightener By Smashbox, it highlights and brightens in one quick step for eyes that will demand far more notice than your 6-hours of sleep and 12-hours in front of the keyboard may feel they deserve.
It’s purse-sized, too, which is a bigger deal than you may think. Droning away at work all day and have a hot date at night, this is a great way for a quick pick-me-up!

Move over full lips.
Eyelashes are the next beauty must-have for 2009. From the pages of magazines to Hollywood’s red carpet, batting full, luxurious lashes is the latest “It” accessory. No matter how many coats of mascara or layers of extensions we apply, it seems like we can never achieve the look without getting the “Tammy Faye Baker” effect. Mascaras and lash extensions are unforgiving on eyelashes, leaving you with dry, brittle, and damaged lashes. LashFood is a new natural conditioning stimulant for thicker, stronger and more beautiful lashes in just 2 to 4 weeks!

We all know that with the holidays come with a lot of fun festivities and late nights which can leave your normally pretty peepers looking a bit puffy and dark. So what’s a girl who’s got places to go and no downtime to do???
This morning, I instantly eliminated my tired eyes with Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing Eye Patches with Cornflower. With this quick fix, you simply peel and place these perfectly pre-shaped patches under your eyes and you’ll instantly feel the cool cornflower water and chamomile doing their job of depuffing, smoothing and reducing dark circles.
And don’t forget to …read more
The mascara that revolves around me!

Some who know me may think my world revolves around me. That’s not precisely true: However, my mascara DOES revolve around me!
(Drum beat.)
For the past few months, I’ve been seeing these ads for this new invention called SPINLASH. I’ll be honest, I’ve been thus far too scared of myself, and my inherent klutzdom, to try it. This mascara has a rotating brush that simultaneously separates, organizes, shapes, coats, lengthens and volumizes eyelashes.
Allegedly.
Sounds amazing, right? But I’ve heard the same about hair brushes, and to be honest…they did nothing but cause my skull to feel like it was oddly pulsating. …read more

Recently, I attended an EyeBuyDirect event, and over pastries and coffee, learned about this huge step forward in affordable (but sexy!) eyewear.
I will be posting tomorrow about the event – and have a special surprise for all of you – but I just wanted to share a pic of my sexy new frames!

You are about to enter a time-machine to Aly-dom.
As you are reading this, I am on a press trip in Los Angeles, and probably having a lot of fun – but as I’m WRITING this – I’m super stressed out trying to get done with my projects before heading out.
I’m not sleeping enough, and working wayyyy too many hours each day, and thus, my eyes are making me look sort of like an afterschool special. On top of all that, we are minutes away from a decision in the biggest – and scariest – election in recent memory!
Clearly, I need …read more

Do you have tons of makeup in your arsenal, and no clue how to wear it? Jo Strettell, Rimmel London’s official makeup artist, offers some tips, based on the line’s current collection – that will work no matter what your fave products are!
Applying mineral powder foundation
Jo’s how-to tip: A great trick that I love is to use two of these mineral powder foundations to give a subtle, natural looking contour to the face. Use the skin-tone matching powder for the base to matte down the face; then add contour by dusting on powder in a slightly darker shade …read more

As a follow-up to their extremely popular Mobile High Shine Lip Gloss Cell Phone Accessory, Bourjois has a new addition to their wonderful line up of beauty accessories. This is their Mini Volume Glamour Ultra Black Mascara.
With a handy clip, you can simply attach this mascara to your cell phone, or even handbag. What a better way to keep a mascara handy without taking up space inside your bag. It looks very cute too!
The mascara formula itself is enriched with Vitamin B5 for extreme volume. And just because the tube is mini, does not mean that the brush …read more
My Psychotic Eyebrow Obsession, or: A Rant on Sienna Miller’s September 07 Vogue Cover

I have, in the *ahem* past, been accused of being eyebrow obsessed. Maybe I am – just a tad. I just hate overdone eyebrows, I really do. I think they are a very important feature, and when I see them too BIG and too LONG, and even too skinny and, God forbid, too far apart – especially on models – it just drives me ape-y. So, I always love articles and features about eyebrows and what do you know, the NY Sun did a great little article on eyebrows today, The Pampered Brow, and as a …read more
