The shade is super pearly, and very intense — especially on my coloring, and when paired with my favorite black liner.

By adding the astro-creamy, rich and frosted shadow, you sort of create an awesome eye supernova. It’s fab. Frosty whites are huge this season – you’ll even see Madonna wearing a variant on her current tour – but I’ve loved the shade since even before it was a trend. It’s just super flattering!

It was all the talk of the beauty boards when Besame Cosmetics announced its super sale (up to 75% off). The brand is repackaging/reformulating much of its line, so it’s out with the old, in with the new! I made a purchase a few weeks ago, and many of the products are still available. I just love the cute, retro packaging. It’s so luxe! The lipstick tube design is inspired by a lipstick case that belonged to Hernandez’s grandmother.

Some products I can wholeheartedly recommend are the Pistachio Eyeshadow, Sunkissed Rouge and Loose Powder. The sale now involves some very low priced items (Regularly around $20, now about $5), and other sets where you can stock up on favorites. I’d certainly love to try other shades of the eyeshadow and rouge!

Frances Hathaway is a makeup artist that loves to work with the bright colors on the eyes. According to Elle Magazine, Frances favorite trick is to use the Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color palette, which is little more than the grease paints that you use on your kids at halloween. Well, a little jazzed up for professional use. Anyway, one great tip from Frances is to forget about heavily making up your lashes and skin when you are choosing a fantasy colored eye. Lashes will look heavy with any more than a coat of mascara and your skin will look too made up as well.

I have been meaning to write a bit on L’Oreal’s HIP (High Intensity Pigment) eyeshadows for several weeks now. I have tried two different colors, and really love these. They are intense colors and they stay on very well without creasing or flaking or fading. The one pictured above is called Cheeky, and is a metallic pink/mauve and a darker mauve. The color representation on my monitor is very close. The other one I tried is below, is called Dynamic, and is a matte dark brown with a frosted cream color. Very pretty and normal looking. Don’t be scared by the pictures at the store and on television, there are a lot of colors here that are “normal” and they do not have to be applied like you are going to Mardi Gras (unless of course you want to)! These are both available, through drugstore.com, or your local drug store (although, they are always out of several colors when I am there).
