FOTD: The Train Ride

This photo was taken late in the afternoon, probably between 4pm and 5pm, while inside an ex-Royal carriage I had found myself in when the family decided to take the Cockle Train (old-fashioned steam train) from Victor Harbour to Goolwa (Australia) and back.
I was fascinated with the mirrors, wooden blinds, rich mahogany interiors, complete with chandeliers, that I saw in a surprisingly empty carriage. We all wondered why there weren’t any other passengers inside that particular carriage. It was absolutely wonderful, which made the experience extra special. We had an opportunity to feel like “royals” for half an hour. …read more

Bento Beauty Project: My Mum!

If there’s one thing I’ve my mum compliment on, it’s how I do makeup. She apparently likes it to the point of complaining that I have time to do others but not hers. So, in the middle of her “complaining” I decided to do an impromptu makeover session.

Bento Beauty Project: Mayi & Penny

It still surprises me when I find out that there are ladies out there who are hesitant to dive into the world of makeup. Though, I could understand that experimenting can turn into an expensive task and, oftentimes, one would find it hard to get someone to show them how to do certain things like applying eye makeup and such.
One of the great things I like whenever I do this thing I’d like to call Bento Beauty Project is that I get to share with them a few of the tricks I’ve learned along the way. I was, after all, …read more

Makeup Trial, Part 1

On the 31st — Halloween! — I’m slated to attend a costume party of sorts and I’m already planning my makeup. The costume part is well taken care of so all I need to do is create a matching look in the makeup department.
Caught in a bind, since I’m pretty much an au naturale sort of girl, putting on costume makeup can be quite uncomfortable. I’m actually teaching myself a few makeup tricks for one FOTD project in the near future but given the schedule, I’m running out of time.

FOTD: TBS Lip Tint on my Cheeks!

As promised, I’m sharing a photo — an old one at that — of myself with TBS Lip Tint used as a cheek tint.

Anna revealed that she’s a fan of The Body Shop’s lip and cheek tint. I share the same love for the lip tint but I, unfortunately, haven’t tried the cheek tint yet. I then mentioned that I had used the lip tint as a cheek tint; one of my old guerilla makeup techniques. I’ve learned to do these sort of things due to frugality in terms of procuring makeup and such.
The photo is about a couple …read more

NARS Super Orgasm’s Day Out

As a trial, an impromptu one at that, I had decided to take my new NARS Blush in Super Orgasm for a test run this morning. Ah, the joy of finally getting behind the wheel then the knee-knocking whatev starts. Gah. Expectations are so high!

Shooting from the bottom simply because I had wanted to capture great light on my face. No luck in blind focusing. Sigh. You see a tinge of the Super Orgasm shade and sparkle, though. I had opted for a lighter application, first, cuz it was after all my first try, and, two, I was headed …read more
