In my trial uses the last few days, Fresh’s new Soy Face Cream seems not to disappoint!

Fresh Soy Face Cream is a Sephora-exclusive, and is stuffed with soy proteins – think of it as a smoothie for your face! It also is made with rose water, cucumber extract, meadowfoam, and jojoba seed oils.

These all work together to help to hydrate my skin, and also help to synthesize collagen – that means, if I continue to use it, my skin will be supple and firm!

Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 is everything you love about the original Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15, but now  it’s even better because it also has a very natural rose tint (with buildable color!).

You can use one slick, and it’ll do the job of smoothing and hydrating – great if you have cracked or chapped non-kissable lips – but you can slick some more to add a bit of rose to your day.

It also  seems to work on those fine lines, and has SPF protection. (Believe it or not, your lips CAN get burned. And not just by the wrong boy!)

After two days of hot weather, my skin took a beating since it’s not really used to temperature hitting the highs of 40s. Hot and cold, literally. It actually had a shock when it experienced lows of around 12-14 (usually at night) and milder temps around 20-24 PLUS all the wind! My skin is dry as the weather! Gah.

One of the skincare must-have (day and night) is a moisturiser. Looking at this face cream from Fresh reminds me of other facial moisturiser options out there. Knowing that this one contains jojoba seed oils is a great thing since I know this is one ingredient that my skin will benefit from.

Though I’m not the type who uses a facial mask, I’m more than willing to give it a go. I’ve always wondered what good it’ll do for my skin. When I was younger (highschool days), I had used one variety, but I can’t remember what it was, once. It wasn’t enough to determine its viability or effectiveness. I have yet to conduct another experiment to see if these sort of skincare will be worth the effort and time. The Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask offers what other moisturisers are offering. I can’t help but wonder if its just a wasteful redundancy in a skincare regimen. Like I said, I have to see for myself if my theories can be proven wrong.

As for creams, nothing beats a boost in hydration and moisture for the skin. Creams may prove to be uncomfortable upon application but some do the work real well. The Black Tea Age-Delay Cream promises to reduce fine lines and wrinkles (noting the collagen-boosting lychee ingridient), things that women my age may be awfully concerned with. We can’t stop aging after all. As I’ve repeatedly said, we can only aid in aging gracefully — without resorting to go under the knife.

Sugarbath Brown Sugar Body Polish is a gentle moisturizing treatment product. Pure brown sugar is blended with the world’s finest oils, resulting in an entirely natural and stimulating exfoliant, with a scent to die for.

In the Philippines, Batangas is one of the provinces that have sugar plantation and mill. Raw sugar doesn’t smell sweet at all. I remember driving by an Azucarera (yea, we still use some Spanish words) in the town of Nasugbu and was I ever glad for A/C so we don’t have to open the windows. That’s how repulsive I found the scent. Perhaps it’s a different case for people who are use to having that factory near where they live. They are used to the scent.

Anyway, enough about that experience. Let’s move on to the processed sugar. Brown sugar to be exact. It’s my personal choice, actually. I prefer using brown sugar in my coffee or tea. The sweet taste it adds on to my drink is different to typical white sugar. This preference explains my immediate reaction to this particular beauty product Brown Sugar Body Polish from Fresh.

It has the restorative, antibacterial properties of sugar, acts as a great exfoliant and the promise of a scent to die for. I surely hope it’s not a scent you’ll die of. Heh. Sorry, just reminded of the scent of the raw, unprocessed sugar. Brings me to think that perhaps after driving through that plantation, taking a bath with this body polish will help take away the foul smell and leave the best sugary sweet scent on my skin instead.

It’s a mystery to me how these elements come together and form a fragrance that can trigger memories and sensations that will bring us to experience something that we may or may not have experienced before. For some who are not aware, ‘Sake’ is an alcoholic beverage that’s more commonly known as ‘rice wine’, originating from Japan.

I reckon I need to sample the real sake (the beverage) before I can truly say that this perfume smells like it or even reminds me of it. But I’m open to hearing any personal experience from the Beauty Bento Box readers.

However, for now, I’m fond of the following scents: vanilla, musk, peach and lilies. If it’s anywhere close to these scents then we’re all good. I wouldn’t mind giving this a chance. What do you think?

After the Bento Beauty Project wherein I talked about putting on makeup, we’ll now talk a bit about post-makeup regimen. Yes. Removing the beautiful makeup you’ve laboured to put on. Hehe.

Of course, as much as the next person, I’m a bit of a lazy lady when it comes to removing makeup. I know, I know. Another bad habit. I do make it a point to wash my face now even when I come home dead tired from events I have to go to. Sigh.

Here’s a secret.

I have yet to find a fabulous makeup remover to accompany my facial wash — I’m even open to switching foams should the need arises — but I still believe I need to find the remover. I’ve vowed to stay away from astringents, though effective, I just feel that it abuses my skin. Sigh.

Even when I’ve found the perks of using mineral makeup to assure me that I won’t wake up with raccoon eyes, I still need to make sure that I’ve fully removed the makeup, esp around the eyes (where I usually concentrate on). I find that they’re the hardest to remove, don’t you? I usually end up foaming twice, which then makes my skin prone to dryness. A bit of a dilemma I’ve got there, yeah?

So, here’s a product that promises to “melt away” the makeup plus toning and conditioning eyelid and lashes. Hmmm. Worth a look, don’t you agree? Soy is native of Eastern Asia, more popular as food but is slowly being used — soybean oil, in particular — in soaps or in cosmetics. I reckon it maximises the protein rich component (source of essential amino acids) that the human body needs.

Quick tip: Be informed if you are allergic to soy before proceeding to use products similar to this one.
