FlowerByKenzo Summer

Refreshingly light and just in time for summer, Flower By Kenzo marries the spicy sparkle of ginger with the ice-cold softness of litchi sorbet and the suave zest of mandarin. Then comes the floral, musky notes of Parma violet and freesia, exuding caressing undertones. White musk and incense fix the fragrance on the skin.

In celebration of Beauty & Style Channel’s blog of the month, I’m focusing today’s feature on this Summer-iffic inspiration of a fragrance, FlowerbyKenzo Summer.

I agree that since the season should be all about enjoying the outdoors and such, the scent to take with you ought to be light and not too overpowering. Just imagine the heat and what it can cause to your body’s chemistry. Right, perspiration. Mixed with any cologne or perfume, it can cause heavy damage to anyone’s nostrils.

The idea of putting on something light and easy to our sense of smell is a great option. Though I’m not entirely certain if going for floral notes willl suit your fancy, but it sure is something that’s very reminiscent of the Summer season.

Anyway, last time I featured something from KENZO was a while back. I still haven’t given any of their fragrances a sniff but as soon as I do, I’ll let you know. If any of you beauties have voted for this one as a favourite, do let us know what you think. Your thoughts will be useful for us to make a choice.

Kenzo launches a new collection dubbed RYOKO that is a pocket-sized, ultra-light fragrance pebble housing four of their major scents: FLOWERBYKENZO, SUMMERBYKENZO, L’EAU PAR KENZO pour femme, & L’EAU PAR KENZO pour homme this coming August.

The Pebble

These pebbles are ergonomically designed stones made to cater to the travel needs of individuals. It is a device that bordered the world of art, design, fashion and fragrance in a modern, pop-culture way.

At first glance, I was curious as to what these round-shaped things are. I mean, it certainly looks different like most Kenzo bottles are. Creative Director Patrick Guedj described the Ryoko as a combination of form and function in a romantic, nomadic way that’s practical, resilient and unique. This pebble is small enough to fit in any bag, pocket or purse you might bring in your travels. It’s so small that it fits in the palm of your hand.

The term simply means “travel” in Japanese.

The Design

The RYOKO collection sets out on a journey and reflects what it sees. At first, it is dressed in dazzling bright white, but without sensations or emotion. It then travels in a hand, a pocket, or with a world traveler to capture the sensations of a journey. Here and there, a myriad of encounters, sceneries and images from the trip take form, like a tattoo. The small, smooth pebble now bears the colorful traces of faraway lands.

A captivating red close-up of a poppy enwraps the FlowerbyKenzo RYOKO. The SummerbyKenzo RYOKO indulges under the summer sunlight. As for the L’EAUPARKENZO pour femme RYOKO, it is reminiscent of a lotus flower gently laying on the waters surface in the early morning. Finally, the L’EAUPARKENZO pour homme RYOKO captures the infinite blue of a moment of serenity.

The Ryokos will be exclusively available at KenzoUSA.
