Lancôme Oscillation Powerbooster

When I hear that something is a vibrating stimulator, I don’t necessarily assume it is a cosmetic!

lancomeoscillationprimerIn this case, it is. Lancôme ‘Oscillation Powerbooster’ was created especially for Nordstrom, and is the first vibrating power primer, it’s intended to help increase natural growing of lashes with a combination of Crescentia complex and vibrations (which sort of act like a lash massage!).

It’s really easy to use: First, you apply Oscillation Powerbooster to prepare and improve the lash surface, followed by your favorite mascara. This helps max out the makeup results.

Its goal is to have stronger, fuller lashes - ideally without blinding yourself. (Cause then, what would be the point???)

Lancôme Color Design Palette

I love the shades (and possibilities) in Lancome’s new Color Design Palette.

lancomecolordesignpaletteIt is a compact of sexy shimmers and mattes that you can easily mix and match to create your ideal day-to-night look. These come in a few different palettes, and are pretty traditional shades but the variance in texture really do make a difference.

Note: Do not be one of those people who buy a compact like this and use the same color over and over. It sort of defies the point, and is pretty darn wasteful!

Lancôme ‘Oscillation’ Vibrating Mascara

Starting with the era of Spin Lash, there’s been great debate about the pros/cons of sticking a vibrating brush near your eye.

lancomevibratingmascaraClearly, the cons are quite apparent. Especially for someone who has been known to nearly blind myself with eyeliner.

But there are benefits to a vibrating mascara, and Lancôme’s first foray into the field is a good one. Like something out of a sci-fi movie, press the button to activate 7,000 oscillations per minute - this helps to wrap every lash with a full round of color, and actually less smudging than a regular brush. (Which is the part that surprised me.)

lancome-oscillation Have you heard about Lancome’s Oscillation?  This is a brand spanking new product from Lancome, and is a mascara with a vibrating brush.  If you haven’t yet tried a brush like this – in general, I think they are amazing.  Lancome makes great mascara, so I know this one will be good too.  Here is what Lancome says:

Lancôme’s lash revolution has begun. Introducing Oscillation, the first vibrating powermascara from the world’s luxury lash leader. With just the push of a button, lashes look extraordinarily extended, separated and multiplied.

The Brush - The battery-operated brush provides 7,000 micro-oscillations per minute, wrapping lashes up to 360 degrees.

The Formula - The Ôscillation formula is designed to work specifically with the Ôscillation brush. Creamy, fluid and supple in texture, it results in a glossy look and a smooth application.

The Application:

  • Remove the clear battery strip
  • Remove the mascara wand
  • Hold the button on the wand to activate the oscillation action
  • Apply in straight, smooth strokes, rather than a zig-zag manner

Price: $34 suggested retail value

Shade: Black

Color Ideal Illuminateur by Lancome

lancome-color-ideal-illuminateur The Color Ideal Illuminateur is one of my favorite products I had the opportunity to preview while in NYC and it is now available at Lancome-USA.com.  This is a hugely versatile product that can be used to highlight, mixed with your foundation for an all over glow, used alone on your eyes for an eye color, mixed with your lotion for some body shimmer - tons of uses for this.  This is what Lancome says about the product:

Inspired by makeup artists, Color Ideal Illuminateur imparts a unique combination of color true pigments and shimmering pearls that catches the light to highlight, illuminate, and contour the skin. These natural buildable formulas glide onto the face seamlessly for a limitless array of looks.
This ultra-blendable, non-greasy fluid has a satiny-smooth texture that melts seamlessly into your skin and enhances its natural luminosity. Your skin looks light-filled, soft, with a healthy radiance.
Tips: Blend with foundation for an all-over glow. Use on top of foundation for added highlighting on brow, cheekbones, nose, chin and temples Mix with moisturizer or wear alone for a boost of radiance and color.

My favorite thing to do with it is to highlight my cheekbones (just tap a drop right along the top of both cheekbones) and highlight just under my brows.  This goes right along with the ethereal glow of their L.U.C.I. collection that I know you have heard me rave about.  Gorgeousity at its finest!

Available at Lancome-usa.com and your local Lancome counter for $37.00.

Pixel Pink Video from Lancome

Do you have your Pixel Pink yet?  I love this color.  LOVE it.  The color is the perfect sheer pink, and the lipstick itself is so moist - I really, really love it.  It still seems to be available here and there, and is on eBay if you’re not close to a  Lancome with it in stock.  I bought two and I have one to give away, so keep checking back - I’d like to save it until its gone everywhere else.  Assuming I can part with it, that is. :)

In the meantime, check out this video from Lancome created by Grant Greenberg about Thakoon and the creation of Pixel Pink - featuring art from Jeff Scher.  :)

b5media Beauty & Style visits the Lancome Boutique NYC

Teri, Shannon and I had a ball at the Lancome Boutique while we were in NYC.  Teri has some pictures at Aging Fabulous of the facial room where she and I received a wonderful glycolic peel.  The treatment at home just isn’t the same as at the Boutique, I tell you - it was soooo nice.  It has been way too long since I have had a wonderful facial.  I filmed this video of Lancome’s Resident Makeup Artist, Leo Bare, talking about all of the gorgeous products in their Spring 08 L.U.C.I. collection with Shannon, who writes Makeup Minute.  I mentioned a couple of my favorites over here in my Valentines Day post from last week, but honestly, I have rarely seen a makeup collection with so many products I loved.  Be sure and check at least a little something out from this line.  The iridescence is just gorgeous.

Thanks so much to Lancome for making us feel so at home and welcome.  It truly was a delight, and as soon as I can get to Dallas, the closest boutique near me, I will be back in for another facial.

Pout-à-Porter Pixel Pink by Lancôme - On Sale Now!

ThakoonLRimage Lancôme’s final installment in their Pout-à-Porter line is available now, in limited numbers, for $25, at Lancome-usa.com. Judging both by the delish color, and the past history of quick sellouts of the Pout-à-Porter lipsticks, you had better get your credit card and your typing fingers warmed up!

This lipstick is the product of emerging designer Thakoon, and was featured at his Fall 2008 show. Thakoon envisioned a young, modern Japanese woman who leaves her life behind and escapes to Hawaii. Once there, she loses herself in the surf and sun. Not a bad vision, eh? I can’t help but remember Claire’s funny story about her Proenza Pink. This looks to be a MUCH more wearable color. But get it before you have to spend $75 bucks on it, ok?

And stay tuned for my Fashion Week story about Lancôme. I had an absolute blast at the Lancôme boutique in NYC, and have a renewed love for Lancôme (and especially their L.U.C.I. collection!). But I will still never, ever shop Lancôme in College Station again. Thank God for the internets (again). ;)
