A Wink and a Kiss

I love minis.
However, I do not mean of the skirt variety – I am pushing my third decade after all – but I love mini sizes of my fave cosmetics.
My latest find is Bare Escentuals A Wink & A Kiss Buxom Lip & Lash Duo–in it, you’ll find their fabulous lip polish as well as a mini mascara, both of the Buxom variety.
I’m a huge fan of the Buxom Lip Polish immediately – it’s super shiny, but it also is loaded with antioxidants. So it’s sort of like taking our vitamins! The lash booster is very much the same concept …read more

Emphasize your lips

If we ladies are looking to snag us some man, the best thing we can do real quick is plump up our lips. Moist, plump, kissable lips will have them come hither quickly – and keep on coming back for more.
I recently received a sample of Kryolan’s new lip emphasizer – this is a company that has been made famous for their theater industry products, so I was hesitant to give it a try – but I was so happy once I did!
The ingredients activate blood circulation, warm your lips and seem to – at the same time – really …read more

M·A·C DSquared Tinted Lip Conditioner

So, my lips have been SUPER dry lately – like, ridiculously – and that’s not sexy.
I was seeking a quick fix, and I found one from my favorite brand – MAC’s new DSquared Tinted Lip Conditioner is just awesome.
Since it’s MAC, it has great shades and awesome packaging. That’s a given.
But the product is fab too, which too is pretty much a MAC given. I  just used a few strokes and my lips stayed moist and hydrated for hours – and the coverage is  just enough, not too heavy, and not too fleeting.
Give it a try – because dry lips …read more

Too Faced Love Lisa Luxury Lip Balm

Confession time: I was drawn to this lip balm because it looks like me.
Let me explain. (Actually, just look at the packaging!)
Too Faced Love Lisa Luxury Lip Balm is a fabulous lip balm with SPF built in, with an even more incredible sotry behind it: It’s inspired by brand founder Jerrod Blandino’s sister, Lisa, who is battling 4th stage melanoma (and kicking its butt). And, actually, a huge portion from the sale of each product will go to the Too Faced Love Lisa Melanoma Research Foundation Grant to help find a cure for this deadly disease.
So, while supporting a really …read more

Pump Up Your Pretty Pout

Pump Up Your Pretty Pout

I must confess, when i first heard about Cynthia Rowland’s Luscious Lips, I thought it sounded ever so slightly medieval.
OK, I actually STILL sort of think that: But I am dealing with it, because it actually seems to work. Luscious Lips is essentially a pump that uses a vacuum seal around your mouth in order to draw fluid toward the lips.
If you use it daily, your lips are supposed to get 50%  larger. Scary, yes, but sure beats Botox.
Now, I don’t know if that’s quite true: But they DO look a little bit plumper. This pump retails for $49.95 …read more

The Lipstick Effect

Today’s economic climate seems to have taken “luxury” right out of our vocabulary…but a new lipstick can put a little luxe back in your life. The indulgence will lift your spirits, transform your look and satisfy that craving for a little something new without the hefty price tag. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that lipstick sales go up during an economic downturn. Pucker up for a kiss of luxury anyone can afford!

For only $5, we love the hydrating, softening lips created by ELF. …read more

Double- ended Lipgloss from Tarte

Tarte, of the cheek stain fame, has a great collection of double ended lipglosses
with even greater names. The newest one (and pictured) is Lois and Clark and it is accompanied by about 18 more shades with cuuuuuute names like Luke & Laura, Sandy & Danny (!!) and if you are really feeling classic, Odysseus and Penelope. Go check out the shades at Nordstrom.com. The newest one is not available yet, but is a sheer brick red and copper and I assume it will be available very soon, as it is already listed.

Lip Fusion XL

Finally getting back with my opinion on LipFusion XL! I like it, I really do. As long as I am good and hydrated, I think it does what it says it does, especially when using it overnight, where it really stays on my lips. Also, I really feel like I can see the results for a day or two. Being good and hydrated is critical though.
However, with a $50 price tag on the LipFusion XL, I am going to try the regular LipFusion next, which sells for a much more reasonable price of $36. …read more

Have a beautiful Valentine’s Day!

Laura Kinney from Sephora offers these tips for kissable Valentine lips:
Make lips more pouty with an overnight treatment. LipFusion XL, available at Sephora, works while you’re sleeping to plump lips. It uses microscopic spheres to penetrate the skin and deliver collagen and hyaluronic acid below the surface.
Wear a lip mask while you’re doing your hair. Too Faced Intensive Plumping Lip Mask (at Sephora) dramatically plumps your entire lip — the pillow and the perimeter.
Add flavor. For your special date, swap your normal gloss for one that’s spiked with flavor to make your kisses even yummier.
The hot look for red …read more
