Today’s economic climate seems to have taken “luxury” right out of our vocabulary…but a new lipstick can put a little luxe back in your life. The indulgence will lift your spirits, transform your look and satisfy that craving for a little something new without the hefty price tag. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that lipstick sales go up during an economic downturn. Pucker up for a kiss of luxury anyone can afford!
For only $5, we love the hydrating, softening lips created by ELF. …read more

Say it in red: The red lip trend is taking over Hollywood this season and how to achieve that look at home. Unfortunately, it seems as though many women either don’t feel comfortable wearing this trend, or wear red lips the wrong way.
Christina Zilber from Jouer advises women on how to take the look from the runway or wear it the real way for every day.
Red Carpet Red
For a true dramatic red carpet look, Zilber created the Simone hydrating lipstick – a rich true red that should be worn for that glamorous holiday party or big night out.

Now that Barack Obama has won (we won’t hide our elation), Michelle Obama has become the fashion and beauty ambassador to the nation…and it’s a nation that can’t ignore that last night, as her husband stood on stage, she was decked out in fiery, emblazened red.
Perhaps it’s to show their regal, Camelot nature – or maybe it’s a sign of strength and power. Have you ever heard the theory that red lipstick sales increase in the time of economic turmoil? Red lips evoke a sense of power in women allowing them stand bold and tall in the face of …read more
Shop Pink in October
By Guest Blogger Kori Ellis, Shoe Blitz
As I’m sure you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Hundreds of companies produce and designate “pink” products with a portion of sales going back to breast cancer related charities such as the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and many others.
You might be surprised that some of the products that you use regularly are part of the promotion. For example, here are three of my personal favorites that are giving back.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
I have used this product for over a dozen years. The special, limited-edition bottle …read more

Do you have your Pixel Pink yet? I love this color. LOVE it. The color is the perfect sheer pink, and the lipstick itself is so moist – I really, really love it. It still seems to be available here and there, and is on eBay if you’re not close to a Lancome with it in stock. I bought two and I have one to give away, so keep checking back – I’d like to save it until its gone everywhere else. Assuming I can part with it, that is.
In the meantime, check out this video from …read more

This lipstick is the product of emerging designer Thakoon, and was featured at his Fall 2008 show. Thakoon envisioned a young, modern Japanese woman who leaves her life behind and escapes to Hawaii. Once there, she loses herself in the surf and sun. Not a bad vision, eh? …read more

Laura Kinney from Sephora offers these tips for kissable Valentine lips:
Make lips more pouty with an overnight treatment. LipFusion XL, available at Sephora, works while you’re sleeping to plump lips. It uses microscopic spheres to penetrate the skin and deliver collagen and hyaluronic acid below the surface.
Wear a lip mask while you’re doing your hair. Too Faced Intensive Plumping Lip Mask (at Sephora) dramatically plumps your entire lip — the pillow and the perimeter.
Add flavor. For your special date, swap your normal gloss for one that’s spiked with flavor to make your kisses even yummier.
