– 40% of women are wearing more neutral shades now than they wore before the recession started

This is where the lipstick index allusion comes in – many women wear makeup because it makes them feel more self-confident and it also improves their self-image (this is over 80%!), and 90% have not changed their makeup usage despite the economic situation!

In my next life, I am going to become a movie star.
Check out the compact Carelle and L’Oreal Paris created exclusively for last night’s Oscar Awards – and gifted to best actress winner Kate Winslet. The compact has a retail value of about $9,000 and features amethyst and red rhodolite.
How gorgeous is this? And how can anyone, even a movie star, receive it…and then just toss it in their purse?

Their skin care line is broken down into skin types:

Purite Thermale – for sensitive skin

Nutrilogie – for dry skin

Thermal Fix – for dehydrated skin

NormaDerm – for acne prone skin

Oligo 25 – for dull skin

Meokine – for signs of aging

LiftactivPRO – for skin that has aged

NeOVADIAL – for hormonal related aging – saggy skin structure

Reti-C for wrinkles and uneven complexion

Dermablend – makeup for skin imperfections

Capitol Soleil 15 – sun protection

Lipo-metric – body care for cellulite

Lipidose – for dry body skin

Each of these lines have specific products geared towards a particular skin type/problem. While the huge list above might be a little confusing, Vichy has covered nearly every issue that you might need covered. For me, I would probably jump back and forth between the NormaDerm and the Purite Thermale for my cleansing regimen and use the LiftactivPRO for moisturization, as I have discovered that only using acne products is causing my aging (aged? ugh.) skin even more problems.

Right now I am using one of Vichy’s best sellers, the Detoxifying Rinse-off Foam Cleanser (from the Purite Thermale collection – $15). To me, this feels more like a cream cleanser, is super easy to use and does a fantastic job dissolving makeup. I alternate this with their NormaDerm Deep Cleansing Gel ($14), because I have all of those acne issues to contend with. So far, this program is working really nicely for me – my skin is looking better and better every day. We will see what happens when “that time” of the month rolls around where the pimples roam free.

My next purchase will be the NeOvadiol – as sagginess is something I have really been noticing lately. Thankfully, Vichy Laboratories skin care products are really priced reasonably, making finding what is just right for your skin a little easier on the wallet. A little more expensive than your general drug store brand but nowhere near some of the more luxe brands. Vichy has a long and great history, and I am happy to see them showing up more prominently in the U.S.

Have you had experience with Vichy Laboratories products? How did they work for you?

The 68-year-old signed a six-figure deal to become the new face of their anti-ageing cream. The Barbarella beauty is renowned for her attitude towards “real beauty” and growing old naturally. Oscar-winner Fonda claims not to have had cosmetic surgery.

Claims? If she has had plastic surgery, she needs to get her money back. If you think thats a little snarky for me, you are probably right. I am feeling a little snarky, as I am on Day 2 of the Campaign to Eliminate Lip Wrinkles from my life (yes, it’s a nice way of saying I am quitting smoking). (I think Ms. Fonda should have tried that campaign a few years back for best results.) And the LipNIX, I think it might be helping a little, I really do. That is the only different thing I am doing this time, and I am not near as stressed out as I normally am and my cravings have not been terribly bad at all.

And if you guessed I am not a big fan of Fonda, you are right – although I did like Monster in Law – darn funny movie.

I have been reading a lot of information about L’Oreal lately with their purchase of The Body Shop, and thought you might be interested in a list of other skin/hair brands, all owned by L’Oreal:
Maybelline, Lancome, Shu Uemura, Kiehl’s, Biotherm, Vichy, Cacharel, Armani, Ralph Lauren, Helena Rubenstein, The Body Shop (coming soon), Redken, Matrix, Biotherm, Garnier
What does this mean to you? Not that much really. More than anything, it should remind you that so much in the world of brands is in your head. I imagine there is more than a few similarities in the Loreal drugstore skin care and [...]
Post from: eBeautyDaily

What does this mean to you? Not that much really. More than anything, it should remind you that so much in the world of brands is in your head. I imagine there is more than a few similarities in the Loreal drugstore skin care and the Lancome skin care. Just remember that when you shop. L’Oreal has the research behind them – there is no reason that they wouldn’t be putting the benefits into their drugstore lines as well as their (highly overpriced, IMHO) Lancome brand.

I have been meaning to write a bit on L’Oreal’s HIP (High Intensity Pigment) eyeshadows for several weeks now. I have tried two different colors, and really love these. They are intense colors and they stay on very well without creasing or flaking or fading. The one pictured above is called Cheeky, and is a metallic pink/mauve and a darker mauve. The color representation on my monitor is very close. The other one I tried is below, is called Dynamic, and is a matte dark brown with a frosted cream color. Very pretty [...]
Post from: eBeautyDaily

I have been meaning to write a bit on L’Oreal’s HIP (High Intensity Pigment) eyeshadows for several weeks now. I have tried two different colors, and really love these. They are intense colors and they stay on very well without creasing or flaking or fading. The one pictured above is called Cheeky, and is a metallic pink/mauve and a darker mauve. The color representation on my monitor is very close. The other one I tried is below, is called Dynamic, and is a matte dark brown with a frosted cream color. Very pretty and normal looking. Don’t be scared by the pictures at the store and on television, there are a lot of colors here that are “normal” and they do not have to be applied like you are going to Mardi Gras (unless of course you want to)! These are both available, through drugstore.com, or your local drug store (although, they are always out of several colors when I am there).
