While I still maintain I did not like the “hair style”, Alicia Keys’ makeup was right on target.
Her face was actually done by Ashunta Sheriff using Mary Kay cosmetics, and it was styled to channel the era of Veronica Lake and Lena Horne,
Ashunta used a peachy palette to punctuate the cheeks, including Mary Kay’s Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush and then maintained the fruity trend by using a raspberry lip liner and Polynesian Petals lipstick.
The goal had been classy and glamorous – and the makeup definitely worked. We won’t talk about the unfortunate hair.

Sigh.
In my next life, I am going to become a movie star.
Check out the compact Carelle and L’Oreal Paris created exclusively for last night’s Oscar Awards – and gifted to best actress winner Kate Winslet. The compact has a retail value of about $9,000 and features amethyst and red rhodolite.
How gorgeous is this? And how can anyone, even a movie star, receive it…and then just toss it in their purse?
