So here is a little clip of me putting it in – I think you can see how pretty it is and how easy it is to put in and truly make an elegant style. Not saying that this particular style is so elegant, it needs a little work, but you can see the HairZing in action at any rate.

The HairZing is available in a ton of different colors, you can see them on the site here. They come in several different sizes as well, so poke around over there for a few minutes and see what they have. The one I have was $12.50, and the most expensive one I saw while poking around at their site was $13.95.

The quality is fantastic – the material they use to string the beads on between the combs (which are on each side, and are made of metal wire), is a super stretchy plastic – not pinchy elastic – think thick stretchy fishing wire. I have given it some pretty rigorous stretch testing, and its all good. The way you stretch it when you put it in makes it stay in so very well – truly, all day – it won’t budge a bit. I love this, and I am ordering a bunch more right away. And if you are the socially responsible type, which I hope you are, don’t miss their company story. Doug has two articles out on HarpersMarket this month, that I found to be wonderful, and I think you will too. The first is his confession:

It was clear I had more than enough of everything: serums, exfoliating cleansers, masks, scrubs, eye creams, moisturizers, hair masks, color enhancing conditioners (for shades of hair I don’t even have), self tanners and makeup. Yes, makeup; two dop kits filled with makeup – and I’m a guy. I was looking for space to file some new finds from Sephora – which I again didn’t need, couldn’t afford, and which probably wouldn’t be able to satiate the inner hunger that a product junkie is never able to quell.

And the second is about his love for Edie Sedgwick and her gorgeous, original, smoky eye:

Coal blacked lined eyes – perfectly done and accented with mod tones of silver or beige on the upper lids, thick spikey lashes, dark exaggerated pained on brows…The dark mysterious eyes somehow invited you in and set her apart.

Doug has long promised me some pictures of him with the Jared Leto smoky eye – I am still waiting for those, however. And he introduced me to Revlon’s Bedroom Eyes powder eyeliner, which, although tricky to apply, will give you the most gorgeous smoky eye ever! This is the Skin Nutrition with Phytomins Refining Face Polish. It is a balance between a microdermabrasion cream and an exfoliator, leaning more towards microdermabrasion. The grains are very fine, which I love, and they are suspended in a sort of a combination between a gel and a cream, with a scent that is very vaguely citrus, not unpleasantly citrus at all (not a big fan of citrus). If you have read eBeautyDaily for very long, you know that I am a huge fan of beauty gadgets – especially those skin care gadgets. I love my Clairsonic skin care brush to the point that I don’t ever want to be without it, but admittedly, its price keeps it out of the realm of lots of folks. So enter the Dove SkinVitalizer. This is an affordable option for a skin care “brush” that isn’t quite a brush, and is so much more. On a velcro type surface you adhere a Cleansing Pillow, which is a sturdy cottony pad that is full of very nice cleanser. It is dry when you remove it from its packet, but you attach it to the SkinVitalizer, run it briefly under water, then turn it on and vitalize your skin to your hearts content with a rich foamy lather.

There are two sides to the pillow that you can choose from – one is smoother, and one is slightly rougher, in order to get more exfoliation benefit from the gadget. There are also two different cleanser formulas to choose from in cleanser – the Energy Glow and the Exfoliating. Both are great – there is ample, thick lather. I really love these tools partially because I really feel like they do a great job cleaning your skin, but I also feel like the vibrations do some toning of your facial muscles, which can’t be a bad thing, right?

Prior to finding the Holy Grail of skin care brushes, I had tried every other brush type that is on the market – truly. I absolutely despise most of them. Don’t waste your money on the ones that use any form of stick-on foam pad – they are all a waste of money, and cost alot more than this SkinVitalizer. The pads slip off, they are a mess. The Skin Vitalizer pads don’t move, they attach in a sort of velcro-y way. They really do work perfectly and are ergonomically designed to fit your every curve on your face. You can get this brush at your local drugstore at prices around $13, and you can buy the cleansing pads for around $4.50 for 14 of them. I hope you like them as much as I do – please let me know what you think when you try it!

• Ahava Purifying Gel for oily skin – Love this – lathers, but not too much – it is perfect for use with my Clairsonic brush
• Still using the Neutrogena Clear Pore Astringent – still like it, but ready for it to be empty – it lasts forever it seems! Any suggestions for something new?
• Ahava Matifying Moisturizer – during the day – it is great – I feel moisturized but not greasy at all – and I love the pump container it comes in. Fab!
• Bioelements Sleepwear – I have been using this at night, and it simply is a great night cream. I really love having something extra rich at night, because that is when your body is in repair mode. You all do get plenty of sleep, right?
• Ahava Purifying Mud Mask for oily skin – this is a great mask too. It feels more gentle than my old Queen Helene standby – very nice.
