I just learned that Kanebo Cosmetics launched a new product for Autumn/Winter 2008. It’s under the Sensai Premier line, The Body Cream.

Reading up on the product, it tells mystic description of having been inspired by the enduring mystique of the moon in all its phases. Sounds poetic, eh? Of course, looking into the actual product, it’s formulated to reach deep inside the skin which will support DNA repair functions and reverse aging. It promises a renewed firmness, silkiness, and radiance in the skin all over.

This cream can be used as a day cream and a night cream. Though, it doesn’t offer any SPF so, I wouldn’t really push anyone into using it when you’re going to be under the sun. However, if you’re planning to stay indoors then perhaps making this one a part of your morning pampering may be a good option.

I reckon the body cream can be used as how you use body lotions but this one is offering a whole lot more in terms of skin care and anti-aging. I do like the idea that there’s a product out there which offers the same kind of care that’s often only available to skin on the face or around the eyes.

I wonder if it’s cool for all skin types. Also, I’m curious as to how long it would take before one would see any result. And, oh, will it mesh well if makeup is applied over it? Ah, I can only find answers to these questions if I get to try it out.

I’m certain that there are other skincare options out there but for now, since I’ve come across one that presents a good argument, I’d like to feature what this brand is offering. Boslter skin’s defences, minimise corrective action later, and preservation of youthful skin; firmness of skin. I’m certain we all find wrinkles, lines and sagging cumbersome to manage.

So here are a couple of treatment sets that will probably teach us how to do just that.

The SENSAI SILK Special Treatment Set includes the following: 2 Weeks Night Firming Essence, Softening Lotion (Moist), and Emulsion (Moist).

The 14-day treatment will help form an ideally metabolised surface membrane that will boost moisture retention and stress resistance. It will give you a smooth, resilient skin. The lotion is similar to the one in the Basic Treatment Set. The emulsion has been formulated to be absorbed quickly and feel luxurious when applied. It will visibly improve firmness, brightness and softness.

There are other products included in the line. From brightening creams and awakening essences to eye creams and masks. It certainly feels like there’s quite a number of things one ought to do and use in order to take care of the skin. I feel just aged a bit by just thinking about it. Ah, well. It doesn’t mean that you won’t have fun in the process, right?

That’s why it’s good to try out sets that will serve as a guide on how to do just that. It’ll help establish a routine that will show us how and what things will work. Along the way we can continue with the same brand or switch to another one that gives us better results.

Exploring the products of SENSAI SILK should be real interesting. I wonder if I’d get an opportunity to try it out. I sure could use a bit of help cuz I just learned that I already have fine lines near my hair line!

Kanebo Sensai Brush Concealer: Treatment Makeup

SENSAI Concealer is enriched with Kanzo (licorice) Extract, a traditional medicinal herb taken from the root of the licorice plant and used to gently soothe blemishes and help prevent irritation. A second key component is Moistened Powder, a unique powder pre-moistened and coated with oil that helps to retain the natural oil in the skin. Silk Extract—prevents moisture loss and allows for a smooth application—and Weightless Glow Factor, is an exquisite, feather-like powder with thin, flat granules which provide smooth coverage and which cause light to reflect evenly off your face. The Concealer also now includes the exclusive Koishimaru Silk Extract which provides superior moisturizing to the skin. Koishimaru Silk was once only reserved for the Imperial Family of Japan, Kanebo was granted the rights to work with this precious fiber.

Received word that this brush-type concealer is coming next month. They claim that they’ve re-engineered this makeup to help better reverse the signs of aging. Certainly caught my attention. I’ve always been intrigued with Kanebo and checking out the unique features, the brush-on applicator and pen-like design, peaked my curiosity even more. I reckon it’s built for easy application and mobility. I’m not sure if it’ll be too bulky compared to the usual tubes or pots that concealers usually come in.

As far as I’ve learned about the product, it contains moisturising ingredients that quickly gets absorbed by the skin, gently moisturising and nourishing it. The Weightless Glow Factor is evenly distributed, uniformly reflecting light, making the skin radiant. And the Moisture Powder acts as a veil for oil and excess moisture.

What is Treatment Makeup? Moisturizing and cosmetic ingredients are applied to the skin in fine layers to achieve a soft dewy complexion and a flawless finish. Water and Silk are layered much the way a fine kimono is layered in Japan. Makeup products are infused with the skincare research, exclusive ingredients and knowledge Kanebo is renowned for.

As much as I want to promise that I’d feature this product in my Eastern Experiments series, I can’t. We’ll see if we can get a sample so we can see whether it can actually deliver.

Promotes collagen synthesis and quality in the “O-Zone” area on and around the lips. Minimises dullness, repairs roughness, and leaves lips plumped up and smooth.

Earlier, I was curiously checking out my lips. I reckon it’s one of those wear-no-makeup days that you find yourself feeling utterly lousy and growing a need to self-deprecate while staring at your reflection. Pah. Imagine me saying “I’ve got such ugly lips. They’re too dark and chappy and heavily wrinkled. I feel so old.” in a whingy voice while looking at a mirror conveniently located on the sun visor of the car. Poor boyfriend who had to sit through it. LOL.

Anyway, my way of taking care of the problem was to dab on some lip balm, both for moisture and some colour. However, I know I needed something more substantial than a bubble gum remedy. So, off I went in search for options.

I found one in my inbox. Cool. Hehe

Kanebo is a world-renowned anti-aging skincare brand and they offer Total Lip Treatment from their Cellular Performance skincare kit under the SENSAI brand.

Interestingly, SENSAI Cellular Performance Total Lip Treatment is a revolutionary treatment essence with the features of a lip balm that targets anti-aging on the lips and its surrounding area. Dubbed the “O Zone” by Kanebo, this facial region often ignored by skincare, is the most mobile part of the face and unconsciously an area people tend to study when forming a general impression of a new face.

While natural aging causes a steady decline in the quantity and quality of collagen within the skin, SENSAI CP Total Lip Treatment works to firm and naturally plump lips by stimulating production of new collagen within the skin while optimizing the current collagen condition. Active ingredients pave the way for skin to product new, fresh collagen while “vacuuming” out the old hardened, fibrous collagen that further embeds wrinkles into the delicate perioral (mouth) area. Prior reading about the O Zone, I haven’t really thought about this area. Come to think of it, we do look at the mouth region esp when we are conversing with another person, right? I guess this ought to be a good thing to seriously consider. Gawd. I never really expected that “aging” will be this tedious and, not to mention, expensive!

Key ingredients of the lip treatment are Mandarin Tree Extract (enhance volume of lips), Hyaluronate/Collagen Booster (Aquaserine 120) (stimulates the breakdown of collagen by increasing the quantity of collagenase enzymes produced), Yuzu Extract (Japanese citron) (enhance lip color and improve microcirculation in the O Zone), and Apricot Pulp Extract (encourages the exfoliation of old cells, preventing lip dryness and chapping).

Suggested Application: Apply mornings and/or evenings.

They say that the lip treatment is effective when used in the last stage of your evening skin care routine, and whenever there’s a need due to dryness or discomfort during the day. Kanebo also even suggests shiatsu (finger pressure massage) by pressing the middle finger of each hand above, below and on each side of the lips, in this order, to combat the effects of aging. Now, that’s something alright. I wonder how many times I have to do that before I see the effects.

Rich, extra care for severely damaged hair. Contains 10 oriental herbal extracts to hydrate, nourish, and aid recovery from within.

I have to admit that after a couple weeks, I’m beginning to worry about my hair again. I’m afraid that the cut isn’t really “growing” as well as I had expected. I’m looking into scheduling another appointment with the hairstylist for a touch-up session, hopefully, get the hair cut right.

With my new short hair, I’m seeing myself using more of the blow dryer and styling products to make sure the hair falls in the right places. However, we all know the risks we take if we do just that. Hair will then be prone to damage.

I’m currently using an intensive hair treatment from Sunsilk (gold pot), which is actually quite helpful in retaining moisture and softness in my hair but sometimes, I do find that it weighs down my hair and is difficult to rinse off. So, yea, I’m either going to switch back to the orange pot or try my luck on a new one and here’s my newest option, Kanebo Sensai’s Intensive Hair Mask.

My hair is not as healthy as it should be and I do often think it needs a whole lot of hydration treatment before I can actually get back it’s shine and luster. Is Kanebo the answer? I have yet to find out. I’ll let you know if I do end up giving this product a go.
