I have had my tube of Smashbox O-Gloss for a couple of months now, it really takes me a while to decide on whether I *really* love a new product or not.  I feel safe to say, as I put it on my rebuy list, that this O-Gloss has really become a staple in my bag.  As a mother and (swear) a soccer mom, I am always running around here to there, half made up (or worse).  The O-Gloss is quick, small, and *oh so* convenient for giving me some good lip where there is none.

If you aren’t familiar with Smashbox’s “O” products, the special thing about them is that they start off clear and after a few moments on your skin, they turn into a lovely shade that looks like a natural flush.  I can’t speak for how it works for you, but it really works outstanding for me.  The color is a perfect clear pink that I adore.  The beneficial/active ingredients in O-Gloss are:  Gogi-Berry-C Complex, Ginko biloba, Marine plankton, Pomegranite seed and Avocado oil.  Yum. 

You can get O-Gloss and its sister product for the cheeks, O-Glow (which I haven’t tried yet, because I have somewhat of an aversion to cream/liquid products on my cheeks due to their tendency to get clogged pores), at Sephora.  O-Gloss is $22, O-Glow is $26.  Anyone out there paranoid about cheek pores that has tried the O-Glow?  It is a gel, it will *probably* be fine, but inquiring minds want to know.

This is Smashbox’s Proof Cream Eyeliner Palette ($29), a sampling of 10 hot selling cream eyeliner shades. You need a brush to apply these – this (below) is Smashbox’s brush, for $18, but as I have mentioned before, I rarely purchase professional makeup brushes, I buy mine from the art store, and will do the same for this purpose.

I know the picture is a little hard to see, but the brush is flat and thin with very short bristles, and it is used by gently tapping the bristles along your eyelash line, just as close as you can get it.

Smashbox has made yet another improvement on their hot-selling (and much loved by all) Photo Finish Primer – they have added sunscreen and a moisturizer. I wonder if it will change the silicone consistancy of the primer to one that is slightly more palatable to me? I don’t know, but I definitely think it is worth a try, and it is definitely going on my Sephora list! You know how I love sunscreen.    I need to take a trip to Houston soon…

I have to say here that I am not nearly as enthused about Smashbox as she is. My uber primer was one from days gone by, from a French cosmetics company, Payot. It was indeed primer perfection for me, and I haven’t had any in years now, and cannot find it anymore (probably just a product re-working and I don’t know what it is called!). The Smashbox primer is chock full of silicone, and that just plain old feels weird on my face. I feel like it is clogging my pores like nobodys business. However, after reading all of these incredibly good reviews of primers, I am going to get out my Smashbox primer again, and give it a real test to see what I think. I haven’t heard one bad review of it yet, so I think I am just holding a grudge against that scary silicone. I also have another primer in my arsenal that I need to review, and will get after that too, maybe next week.

I lovvvvvvvvvve foundation primers, they really have a way of smoothing out your face before foundation application that even a good moisturizer just can’t do. More about that coming up!
