Something I’ve noticed in traveling – especially on extended trips – a sturdy, roomy, case for your beauty items can make the difference between function and failure.
As I am embarking home from my current trip, I’m ready to upgrade to a new beauty carry-all and I think I know the one I want. Right now, ideeli is hosting a sale of Titan luggage, and their Titan 360 Beauty Case is fab.
Normally found for around $400, it’s currently being sold for $152, and comes in all sorts of fun colors like black, red, and…as you can see…pink! I love it …read more

Whenever I travel, I look for the most compact, but yet streamlined, way of transporting my makeup.
The new Sephora Brand Black Diamond Metro Train Case is perfect – it fits all my needs! It’s sleek and sophisticated – yes, just as I am – and even has a lock and key to help keep items secure! There’s also adjustable inner trays, a four-tier foldout tray, and a detachable shoulder strap. You would not BELIEVE how much stuff it can hold!
As you read this, I am on a red-eye flight, via the fabulous Mexicana airlines, to Los Cabos – and have …read more

As a minor update in Aly-land gossip, I am no longer going to Mexico next week. I am now going to LA (my favorite part of America, anyway!), and Mexico in two weeks.
It’s a press trip, so while fun in the sun is on the agenda, I will be spending time in meeting-like activities and formal dinners. I will need to look my best!
A great kit to get all of my travel face essentials is Laura Mercier’s Flawless Face.
It’s awesome: It has foundation primer, illuminating powder, and everything else you need to keep your oil-free foundation needs covered, complete with …read more

I got a chance to be a jetsetter last week when I was invited by my wonderful friends at Glam.com to an amazing “Beauty Editor for a Day” trip to NYC. We had an amazing schedule of things to do which rivaled what Teri planned so wonderfully for us during Spring 08 Fashion week, but was all crammed into one day. Before I go any further with all of THAT, I just wanted to say a giant thank you to India-Jewel and Susan at Glam for inviting me on this super glamorous trip! Here are the other marvelous chicks …read more

So, I made it. I have spent the last 11 days out of town, first for a week in Austin at SXSW interactive, and the last four days in San Antonio with the fam. Much fun was had, sooooo many great people were met, much sleep was lost, much blogging was left undone. So now I am left trying to get back into the groove. Never an easy task for me.
Not much beauty was had at SXSW, I must admit – it was a geekfest with the men vastly overwhelming the women (I hate it when that …read more

I guess the duty free shops really must sell a LOT of high end cosmetics and perfumes – John Dempsey, the president of Estee Lauder says the new ban on liquids on aircraft is going to “kill” the industry:
The Estée Lauder president attended a MAC cosmetics lunch for one of its new faces, Sandra Bernhard, after the thwarted terror plot on Wednesday and expressed his nerves about the effect of it on his industry. “A lot of business is done through the duty-free shops, and it will really hurt us if people can’t take our perfume on the planes,” he …read more
