The Beauty of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

This interesting article from a nutritionist writing for the Manila Bulletin Online recommends the use of extra virgin coconut oil for overall health, as well as attributes it to the diminishing of blemishes on her face.
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, although with saturated fats is made up mostly of medium chain triglycerides. Unlike other oils which are digested using bile and pancreatic enzymes, extra virgin coconut oil goes immediately to the liver and is converted to energy. It contains Lauric acid, a medium chain fatty acid, which is responsible for many of its health benefits. Extra Virgin coconut oil …read more

A beautiful day of catching up!

I am going to sit here today until I am caught up. I have quite a few things that are time sensitive and have been hanging around here, and I have been too lazy/preoccupied/selfcentered/delusional to get them done. Call me out if you don’t see 4 posts from me come around today. There I have said it. Time to go to work.
Oh – guess what? Today is my one month non-smoking anniversary. I joined this group – QuitNet – and they sent me an email this morning to remind me of …read more

Stallex Skin Care and Sun Protection, by Dr. Neil Schultz

Stallex Skin Care and Sun Protection, by Dr. Neil Schultz

I really love skin care that has been created by a dermatologist – you can call me a sucker if you want to, but I do think they know what is going on with skin better than the average bear (or gigantic beauty company). The most recent line I have come to know about is Dr. Neil Schultz’s Stallex. The products in the line are not inexpensive, but nor are they outrageously expensive, it is a good mid range product line. I have been using some of the sunscreens in the line and are really happy with …read more

Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Skin Cancer Awareness Month

I did a shameful, SHAMEFUL job promoting skin cancer awareness month (which was the month of May), although hopefully all the promotion of quitting smoking somewhat made up for that. That, and my constant harping about sunscreen all year round anyway. But yet, I still feel like I have dropped the ball somewhat. *sigh*
ANYWAY, I found at SheFinds.com a little story about Maggie Gyllenhaal and Olay teaming up to promote Skin Cancer Awareness:
In honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month this May, Olay and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery have persuaded 150 dermatologists nationwide to participate in …read more

A beautifully full plate!

Just when you thought I was running out of responsibilities – I have sort of taken on another one, but not really. You might know I have been maintaining a website at MRSA Resources for a little over a year now – and have moved the newsy part of it over here to b5media, to MRSANotes.com, where it will be a little closer to me, and easier for me to work on. The part of the work that has actually increased is now I HAVE to write it or have Hsien on my butt.

So, I hope …read more

The Campaign to Eliminate Lip Wrinkles

Oh, just an update here – I am still well on my campaign – 16 days and counting in fact. I would like to have a new lip wrinkle, but alas there are none around, and I am not going to buy a whole pack of lip wrinkles just for one. My creative juices are very lightly flowing, but I still feel nowhere near back to normal, and in addition, I can’t sleep at night to save my life. I have tried sleeping pills, exercise, reading, working SuDoku puzzles – everything I know – but still don’t …read more

Beautiful Comedy

I am not sure really what this has to do with beauty, other than Judson Laipply looks pretty beautiful in his jeans – and a good laugh is good for the soul and the outlook on life – but this was very cute and I thought I would pass it on:

Word to my brother: Thanks for sending.

I have survived!

I have survived!

I am sure you will all be happy to know that I have survived. LOL I had a REALLY bad day yesterday, but somewhere around 7 or 8pm I came back to life. Stay tuned for yesterdays planned posts, and if you are thinking about quitting – it is a good time to give it a whirl. Once you get past the 3rd day, it is no problem (I can say this, cause this isn’t my first rodeo). But now I have to find a nice way to dump all of my smoking …read more

Day 3 Blahs

I had big plans around here today in the way of posts, but I am on day 3 of the Campaign to Eliminate Lip Wrinkles, and it isn’t going so swell today. I am going back to bed for a little while, and hopefully when I wake up, I will feel better.
