Thai Back Massage

The last week was filled with late nights, work deadlines and property taxes. That when Saturday came around, my back was in knots that they’ve grown a name. Heh.
Since it was a weekend, I was looking forward to some relaxation time, doing anything that’s not work-related, indulge in senseless banter and forget being a grown up for a while (uh, right). Didn’t exactly know what to do but lit up like a light bulb when teh boyfriend suggested getting a massage. “Hell, yea!” I said. LOL.
He and I with a few friends got together and had a Japanese dinner somewhere in Ortigas Center then headed to TonTon Massage (Pasig Branch). They offer authentic Thai Massage (body, back and foot).
This is just a quick review on their services since I’m not entirely satisfied. Tough luck, eh?
First, aesthetically, the place looks rundown. The toilet’s dismal. The massage area, locker rooms and toilet are separated by curtains, thin curtains.
Second, they let you wear scrubs or at least they look like scrubs. They handed them garments unceremoniously. Boy, they didn’t even offer me one in my size! I wore a LARGE sized pair whereas my frame fits into XS. Gah.
Third, I actually wanted to get a full hour of body massage and a half hour of back massage. Can you guess what I got? A full hour of the latter and none of the former. Pffft. Are these guys amateurs? Pah.
Lastly, I definitely didn’t like how the massage went. Believe me, I like pressure point massages but the masseuse made me feel that she didn’t know what she was doing. The massage didn’t have a well-oiled technique which ending up unbalanced. I actually went home feeling sore in a sore left shoulder, mid-right of my back, and lower back. See what I mean when I said unbalanced? Heh.
Can you imagine my disappointment? Perhaps I just got a lemon for a masseuse. But if that’s how they “train” them then all them branches are not worth a second visit in my book. I’m hoping it’s the former. And I wish I had tried the foot massage that a friend highly recommended and which teh boyfriend raved about later on after having had it and ended up falling asleep on the sofa. LOL.
Ah, well. I need to schedule a trip to WM Medical Spa real soon. I need the right sort of massage that will de-stress my back!
