Can you even believe how adorable this is????
If you are a fan of Harajuku Lovers, you’ll swoon for the Love Gift Set!!!
Actually, even if you aren’t a fan - how cute will this look on your vanity?
You’ll love Love: She’s stepping out in a cute, striped mini-dress and fashionable red kicks - honestly, she dresses sort of like me - and wears her heart on her sleeve, or rather, in her hair! How could you not love??? Her scent is reminiscent of a floral bouquet, with notes of pink pomelo, rose, and creamy vanilla orchid. It’s maybe perfect for your teen queen - but it’s super sensual, so watch out!
(I want it for myself, though, truth be told.)

If you are looking to update your scent this season, M·A·C Creations Hue: Dejarose is a perfect spring fragrance.
It’s totally romantic and mingles Bulgarian, Turkish and Tea Roses with the essence of orchid, lily, jasmine and peony to create a rosy retro-scent.
I love the sexy playfulness of it - and the bottle is perfectly cute and compact as well!

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique

A few weeks ago, I was helping one of my best friends pack up one apartment to move to another.
She, too, is a beauty editor, and upon opening up one of her hall closets, we were greeted by shelves upon shelves of bottles of lotions and potions.
When such myriad options are in front of you…what jumps out? The prettiest package.
And, that day, I oo’d and ahh’d (and grabbed) everything that came in sexy bottles - without even knowing what it smelled like or even who made it. And the same effect just happened again.
If you have been paying attention, the constant theme that runs through each of Jean Paul Gaultier’s works are an image of a woman.
This theme continues in the limited-edition Classique, a sweet floral-oriental scent in a corset-shaped bottle.
I love the scent - but also the bottle - and I think it may be a perfect choice for your spring fragrance editions.

Vera Wang’s New Rock Princess

I have always been a fan of Vera Wang, and I was immediately excited about the new Vera Wang Rock Princess.
Why? Cause I, myself, am a rock princess! (Or aspire to be.)
The scent is dark and sultry, while fruity and floral, sort of embodying both the princess and edgy sides inside of us all. (Think of it as naughty and nice, with an edge.)
Initially, I was drawn to the gorgeous bottle - and how beautiful it will look on my vanity - but the spicy florals are what is going to keep me back (and wearing on sexy nights out!)

Here’s how it works:
1. Purchase the Fragrance Gift Certificate as a gift or for yourself.
2. Sample the fragrances and choose a favorite.
3. Fill in the enclosed voucher.
4. Bring the voucher in to your local Sephora store and redeem it for the fragrance you’ve chosen.
It’s like 10 gifts in one box…which will make you very popular. (And improve your own gift.)

Find your scent

I was lucky enough to get to spend the entire first week of November as an invited guest at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, and passed just about the entirety of my stay being absolutely indulgent and gluttonous.
It was fab.
During my stay, I stopped by Ajne. Created and owned by Jane Hendler, Ajne is a Carmel based company that emphasizes the use of organic, chemical-free products and CUSTOM BLENDS (how cool is that???) perfumes with ingredients that are so rare, they can cost up to $80,000 a kilo.
These perfumes are either sold stand-alone, or expertly blended to create new scents that can provide different benefits based on your personal needs. The personal blend is done by a process that seems half chemistry, half sorcery: Ajne uses a system, based on the ideas of Chakra, to make each scent unique to the wearer. First, you have to answer a questionnaire about yourself that might seem a little off-the-topic for perfume (for example, what colors do you like or what your favorite season is). Then a mélanger trained by Ajne will interpret your answers and decide which areas of your body’s chakra need improving. Since these areas relate to scents, it is then easy to find which oils and perfumes you will like and benefit from the most.
The process may be a little confusing for those who don’t understand Chakra, but the result is absolutely delicious - by the end of my experience, I learned that while I as full of love, there was not enough passion in my life - and that was where my chakras were unbalanced. My scent helped to get my insides in order…and also smelled fabulous.

Lusting For Tom Ford’s White Patchouli

While I have fragrance on the brain – I am DYING to get my hands on Tom Ford’s new one, White Patchouli. I am digging for a reason and some time to get to Houston.
Peeking at Neiman’s right now, they have a gift with purchase – spend $100 on Tom Ford Beauty (before S&H and tax), and receive 4 (?) deluxe mini White Patchouli Eau de Parfum. Or is that Parfum’s? ;)
I am the biggest fan of Black Orchid – I get SO many compliments when I wear it – and am getting close to needing another bottle. I believe I have found the way to get a hold of White Patchouli without driving to Houston. I hope I love it.
New From Yves Saint Laurent: elle Intense

I will get this fragrance if for no other reason than it is such a gorgeous bottle. How is that for a review? :) I like the original Elle scent well enough to wear it on semi-regular occasion, but honestly, I ADORE the bottle. It is so – pink. And gold. It is beautiful and makes me so happy to see on my shelf! Silly – I know.
This is the newest incarnation of the elle fragrance, elle Intense by Yves Saint Laurent. It is a heavier version of the original scent with notes of raspberries, pink pepper and patchouli. The bottle is a little more dramatic, but follows along the same gorgeous lines as the original, which puts it as an A+ in my book. ;)
Are you an elle fan? Will you try this one?

I Am Glad I Am Done Having Babies!

Interesting research out of Scotland lands at the BBC today - “Pregnant women have been told that not using perfumes or scented creams may reduce the risk of unborn boys developing infertility in later life.” [source]
The point is, that these researchers seem to have found a connection between fragrance and reproductive health in male offspring of rats. Honestly, that is a little scary to me. I have always been one of those folks who never worried about that *stuff.* I continued to color my hair, and certainly never considered not wearing moisturizer, lotion and makeup during my pregnancy. I hope my son doesn’t pay for that later on.
I know all of this is such a hot topic, and maybe its a wise thing to be concerned about. I am just glad I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Do you worry?
