I was chatting with my gal pal earlier, and she’s trying to convince me to spend a lot of time by the water on our upcoming getaway. While, obviously, my main concern is my celluite being near said watery conditions, I am concerned about my makeup!
Since it is summer, and probably many of you are way more mature about such matters than me, you are probably looking for some hot waterproof looks of your own. Check out this fun video from Tarte, offering a tutorial of their waterproof wonders including eyeQuatic.

Sephora
The EyeQuatic set includes three mermaid-inspired lock & roll creaseless cream & powder shadow duos (Lavendar, Teal, Champagne) a deluxe mini lights, camera, splashes! 4-in-1 natural waterproof mascara, and a free mod-chic head scarf.
My favorite part? It seems to stay in place even when I get all emo and start tearing and rubbing my eyes…and THAT is the biggest godsend of all.

If you haven’t noticed by my obsessive coverage, I’m totally a set/collection/kit sort of girl.

Stila’s Made in Your Shade is awesome, it’s a collection of six of Stila’s best complexion products - each works great in its own right, but designed to work together to create that often unobtainable but always deeply valued goal - the flawless face.
Lets face it - even the hottest eye makeup exhibition ever looks like garbage without good skin.
Each item in the kit has different levels of coverage and finishes - perfect since our skin’s needs change with time (and even times of the month!)
In the kit is:
- 0.07 oz Convertible Color
- 0.17 oz Natural Finish Oil-Free Makeup
- 0.24 oz Hydrating Primer SPF 15
- 0.24 oz Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer i
- 0.27 oz Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 i
- 0.17 oz Illuminating Liquid Foundation
Amazing Cosmetics Refine and Finish

All of us gals are constantly seeking a perfect complexion.

However, it’s way too often easier said than done.
Amazing Cosmetics’ Refine and Finish comes in a sleek mirrored compact with my always-loved brush—making a flawless face surprisingly easy to achieve for the girl on-the-go.
Included is Velvet Mineral Foundation Pressed Powder, this is a lightweight mineral powder foundation that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and evens-out skintone.
Also in the kit is PowderSet, this is a fabulous but colorless setting powder - great for eliminating that shine I always get after being out for a few hours. I love the slight shimmer effect as well - you’ll see what I mean when you try it!
Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment

I think the secret to a good lip treatment - or ANY good product - is that it both looks and feels good.
This sounds simple, right? But the truth is, very often the most attractive products are the least successful.

Image: Sephora
Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 is everything you love about the original Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15, but now it’s even better because it also has a very natural rose tint (with buildable color!).
You can use one slick, and it’ll do the job of smoothing and hydrating - great if you have cracked or chapped non-kissable lips - but you can slick some more to add a bit of rose to your day.
It also seems to work on those fine lines, and has SPF protection. (Believe it or not, your lips CAN get burned. And not just by the wrong boy!)
Bright Lights, Big City

I love Benefit Cosmetics for several reasons: First, they are awesome products, in general, and second…the fabulous packaging!

Image: Sephora
And I also love their sets, such as the hot off the shelves Bright Lights Big City! , that contains a brightening face primer, a blue mascara to whiten eyes , and a pink pencil eye pencil (great to bright up tired eyes!).
The idea of this kit is, quite obviously, just to brighten you up! And who can’t use that?
This kit is compact, and will have you as hooked as I am in no time - and looking so bright-eyed and bushy tailed, people may actually believe you had a good night’s sleep last night. Which, obvs, you didn’t.
Estée Lauder Sensuous Gold Eye Shadow

Shades of gold and bronze are hot this summer - you’ll see it in shoes, bags, and all sorts of accessories.

Why wouldn’t it make it into your eye palette?
Estee Lauder’s Sensuous Gold Signature Eye Quad is a limited-edition compact that includes a variety of shades of hammered gold.
They can all be worn alone, but are designed to be blended and worn together, to create a variety of golden looks. Mix and match is the beauty of the eye quad. It’s 4 colors, but many options for looks and variants. You can even wear the darker colors as a shimmery liner.
I love to pair my shades of gold with neutral makeup and a white draping dress–it’s very Helen of Troy, and super hot!

Estée Lauder Gilded Rose Shimmer Powder

Before we even discuss this product, take a moment to check out the awesome brush that comes inside.

Is it not a perfect little fan? (Very similar to the one you will find in my favorite product of the summer, Benefit’s One Hot Minute, part of why we love it!) - this is Estee Lauder’s Gilded Rose Shimmer Powder, and it’s a fabulous way to get an instant glow.
It’s made of what is, quite simply, baked marbleized powder. But it also has an essence of shimmering gold to it, which means when you put it on, you instantly get a fabulous sheer - almost luminous - aura.
Obviously, it’s for your face, but I’ve been using it on my décolletage - to sexy results!
Bare Escentuals Hydrating Mineral Veil

If you’ve read eBeautyDaily, like, ever, you are probably already well aware that I am a fan of Bare Escentuals.

Image: Nordstrom
Actually, to call me a fan would be like to say that Elvis sort of liked peanut butter. I am obsessed - and the new water-based Hydrating Mineral Veil has not faltered my love at all.
This new take on mineral veil is great for thirsty skin and has a cooling effect, it also helps brighten skin - but in a non-obvious not-shimmery sort of way, which helps to create a smooth finishing touch.
My advice: Best way to use this is to buff it over makeup or bare skin with a great kabuki brush!
shu uemura Mini Star Glitz False Eyelashes

How unbelievably cool and sexy are these???

Image: Nordstrom
I am beyond smitten with these night sky-colored eyelashes with star motifs. They will create a fabulous twinkle on the edges of the eyes that will make you the star of ANY party!
shu uemura Mini Star Glitz False Eyelashes are not for the office - unless I guess you work in a very unique sort of company - but can sexy up that little black dress in no time at all.
I used to think funky false eyelashes weren’t for me - I’m a pretty shy girl - but I was blown away the first time I saw myself in pictures, in them. They will add such sass to your style, you’ll be hooked in no time!
Prescriptives All Skins Mineral Makeup

Mineral makeup is key to breathable skin.

Image: Nordstrom
All Skins Mineral Makeup 16-Hour Wear SPF 10 is an all-day liquid mineral foundation that promises to stay fresh and at the same time help protect your skin from the evil the sun has to offer: i.e. those UVA/UVB rays.
This is great, if you are like me, and despite being in the Hamptons on a sunny weekend, half the time forget to sun-protect.
It is made with an exclusive R.E.C. complex (Radiance Emitting Crystals—a unique combination of amethyst, rose quartz and calcite) that also gives skin a bit of glow. Pretty hot…especially out here!
