As the economy continues to look bleak, studies show that U.S. residents are cutting back on cosmetic procedures. A recent poll by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) indicated that 59% of women said the economy influenced their plans for cosmetic procedures – up 9 % from a similar poll in March. Another recent poll of the Society’s members found a 62 % decrease in all cosmetic procedures in the first half of 2008 compared with the same time period last year.

L’Oreal commissioned Carelle, known for colored gemstone jewelry, to create a compact featuring lemon citrine and pale green quartz stones set in 18K yellow gold with diamond details for this year’s Golden Globe awards.
Each of the women nominated for best actress in a drama and in a comedy will receive one to commemorate her achievement. In addition to the compacts gifted to the likes of Angelina and Meryl (9 in total), one last compact will be auctioned off to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation at eBay.com during the Golden Globes show on January 11, 2009.

Some who know me may think my world revolves around me. That’s not precisely true: However, my mascara DOES revolve around me!

For the past few months, I’ve been seeing these ads for this new invention called SPINLASH. I’ll be honest, I’ve been thus far too scared of myself, and my inherent klutzdom, to try it. This mascara has a rotating brush that simultaneously separates, organizes, shapes, coats, lengthens and volumizes eyelashes.
