So with all these posts about Breast Cancer Awareness and PINK gadgets, I’ve been thinking…
Do women really go for pink gadgets?
Actually this post is a long overdue reply to Jayvee’s post, “Survey says: Women don’t like pink gadgets!!!!”
Hardware Widow Advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi has put down in black and white what plenty of women around here have been thinking for ages: we want technology but we don’t want it coloured pink or encrusted with fake gemstones.

While I like looking at pink gadgets, and the thought of gadget manufacturers empowering women and fashion with the production of pink gadgets make me feel all fuzzy inside, in all honesty, I don’t even own a single pink gadget!
I always go for silver or white. I owned a white ipod (and still thinking of getting a whilte 160 gig iPod classic!), am currently using a white SE M600i and typing this post on a silver Mac Book Pro.
And when I was contemplating on getting a DS Lite, I was leaning more on getting the white one instead of the pink one.
I own a lot of pink bags and pink clothes, but never gadgets.
But maybe that’s why I don’t own a single pink gadget. I mean hello, imagine me wearing a pink dress, with a metallic pink bag walking in the mall carrying a pink phone.
Pink overload much?!
I wouldn’t really mind owning a pink gadget (especially if it’s given for free, hahaha) but if I were to use my own money, I’d buy a gadget that would totally go with everything I wear. Hence, the safe bet would be white or silver!

my laptop’s white, and my creative zen micro is silver. haha! my digital camera’s gold, though, which i luuuurve.
I’m more for purple, actually.

i think the color pink is just tagged as a color for women.. but not all women love nor like pink.. i have a lot of friends who love colors like purple,yellow,green, and blue..

I was so not into pink until my dd decided it was her favorite color. (Used to be sky blue, then red, now pepto, err, cotton candy pink.) It’s kind of grown on me.

I like pink. But I just realized I don’t own a pink gadget..not anymore, that is. I used to have a pink ipod which I sold. Now I have a black one.
But like Anna, I’m planning to get a pink Speck crystal case for my soon-to-be-bought Macbook.
I hate gender stereotyping and i hate dull colors – so I’m delighted to be able to get gadgets in pink – but then I’m a guy.
