Finally, a colored DSLR!
I’ve been clamoring (ok, I’m exaggerating, haha) for a colored DSLR for some time now. I mean, hello. Black is so boring. Just because I have to look professional doesn’t mean I have to lug around a big, black, bulky camera.
Apparently, aside from being the first colored DSLR, the Lumix G1 is smaller than most DSLRs in the market.
Combining a downsized body and advanced camera features that realize the operational comfort even as easy as that of compact cameras, the super-mobile G1 shatters the old notion that all digital SLRs are bulky, heavy and hard to use. – Press Release
The G1 is also the world’s first camera to use the new Micro Four Thirds System standard:
The features that clearly set the Micro Four Thirds System standard apart from the Four Thirds System standard: approx. 50% shorter flange back distance (mount-to-sensor distance), approx. 6mm smaller lens mount outer diameter and electrical contacts in mount increased from 9 to 11.* – Press Release
Ok, whatever that means. Basically it means, smaller camera unit and smaller interchangeable lenses that are compatible with other camera brands using the Four Thirds System.
But the point is, Red and Blue DLSR, that’s more than enough to make me giddy, haha.
Features:
- 12.1 megapixel sensor
