Geek Tip: Turn A Dance Pad Into A Purse!

Got an old Dance Dance Revolution Pad lying around that you don’t use anymore? Here’s a cool tutorial on how to turn your old dance pad into a purse!
Thanks Liz (I assume your name is Liz, haha) of Liz Revision!
I’m a frustrated Dance Dance Revolution player. I swear, I’m envious of those little kids I see in the mall, prancing around in those Dance Revolution arcade machine. It’s NOT as easy as it seems. And to think I consider myself person with rhythm, at least!
Anyhoo, I’m totally loving this purse. It’s so geek chic! I want to learn how to …read more

Swarovski Pixel Jewelry: Geek Chic!

It’s been a while since I last blogged about geeky jewelry so I think it’s about time I blogged about one.
Nothing more is geekier than jewelry designed like your favorite retro game characters but when you add Swarovski to the equation, that brings geekness to a whole new level.
Definitely geek chic, if you ask me!
These Swarovski Pixel Jewelry features characters like Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Tetris blocks (Can’t really say this is a character, haha).
I wonder how much these pieces are going to cost. No news from the designers (Team Tentakulus) about when they’re going to be available for public …read more

Glove Phone Holder: Love It or Leave It?

What do you guys think of this leather glove phone holder by Karl Lagerfeld?
While some people think its a chic accessory, I personally find it a little S&M, if you know what I mean, haha.
Or maybe a little super hero-y, like Catwoman-ish in the Batman Returns (1992) movie starring Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer.
And while some people might find it convenient that your mobile is at your hand’s reach (literally), I’ll probably be a little stiff with it around. I’d be scared to gesture with my hands for the fear of the mobile phone flying and hitting someone in the …read more

Pixelated, Vinyl Heart Tie is So Geek Chic!

This tie has geek chic written all over it.
Seriously, nothing else but a pixelated heart can be girly and geeky at the same.
Don’t you just loooove it when girls wear guy clothes and accessories and still manage to look adorable in it? I, for one, would LOVE to wear ties all the time. I really don’t understand why ties are said to be men’s accessories. Women wear ties better than men do, haha!
This adorable tie is handmade by inhope. Cute!

Gadgenista Likes: Geek Lingo Laptop Sleeve!

I’m loving this laptop sleeve covered with geek lingo! I’ve been an avid chatter ever since the internet boomed in the late 1990s. I used to spend most of my waking moments on mIRC before, haha.
Atleast nowadays, people won’t raise an eyebrow when I actually go ‘LOL’ in real life. Haha.

Pac-Man On The Runway!

I can’t believe a fashion designer (Giles Deacon) decided to use Pac-Man as his inspiration for his collection at a fashion show!
The collection is actually pretty interesting. I’m loving the Pac-Man motif dress, but I’m just not so sure how I feel about the Pac-Man headdress…
Looks kind of heavy if you ask me, haha!

Recycled Floppy Disk Bracelets Look Funky Weird!

Who here remembers floppy disks? And I’m not talking about the 3.5 inch, 1.44 MB (WOW, 1.4 MB!!!!) disks. Those are actually still quite recent.
I’m talking about the 5.25″ floppy disks! I have a gazillion of these rotting away in our storage room. Haven’t really thought of what to do with them.
But apparently someone decided to turn them into bracelets. Haha. Weird! These supposedly are “flowers” made from recycled floppy diskettes and sewn onto a cotton band.
I mean seriously, who still uses floppy disk drives around here? Seeing a 3.5 inch drive on a computer now seems so alien.

Bluetooth Headsets: To Wear Or Not To Wear?

A friend of mine on Plurk asked,
“What’s your take on bluetooth headsets? I wanna go hands-free but don’t want to go around looking like a dweeb. Would you actually walk around wearing bluetooth headsets?”
I know for a fact that a lot of people use bluetooth headsets while driving. But would you actually walk around the streets with a bluetooth headset?
There’s a lot of fashionable bluetooth headsets going around and I could name a few… but talking to yourself while walking would probably give people an impression that you’re looney
Or even worse… Bluetooth headset while on a date? (see …read more

QWERTY Wallet: Geek Chic Or Too Geeky?

There’s something geekishly cute about this wallet. I personally won’t use it as I like my wallets in leather (hehehe), but it certainly did catch my eye and I’m sure there are some geek girls who would definitely get a kick out of this!  So what do you guys think?
