When was the last time you actually played with actual playing cards? I seriously can’t remember.

It seems like nowadays the only card games I play are the virtual and online ones. Virtual poker tournaments, virtual solitaire. Oh gee, I can’t even remember when was the last time I played virtual solitaire. Ever since I converted to being a Mac user, virtual solitaire is such an alien thing to me! Does Mac even come pre-loaded with games? Anyway… moving on…

From the makers of the adorable external HD cases and the Photoshop and Illustrator Magnetic Photo Whiteboard, comes another witty product: iPhone Playing Cards!

The first time I saw the photos, I thought they were real iPhones. Apparently, they’re playing cards! Cute eh? It’s made of PVC plastic so they’re completely washable. You don’t have to worry about them getting folded and having some creases. And if they get dirty, just wash ‘em!

Price: $25.00
One word: ADORABLE.
If this doesn’t make you go “awwwwwwwww, cuuuuuuuuteeee!” then I don’t know what else would.
Seriously, I could just die from cuteness looking at it. Haha.
Exaggerations aside, this cute little kitty case is made of felt and lined with grey fleece to keep your iPhone and iPod Touch warm and protected.
The craftsmanship is amazing, I must say! The baby blue eyes are made of buttons and the stitchings on it just made it perfect. It even has a tiny little tail stitching at the back!
Augh. So cute!
Where to buy: VintageCoquette of Etsy
Price: $24.00

While self-charging cellphones are still a thing of the near-future (give it around 3 to 5 years, maybe), wireless chargers for gadgets are slowly entering the industry.

While self-charging cellphones are still a thing of the near-future (give it around 3 to 5 years, maybe), wireless chargers for gadgets are slowly entering the industry.

Take the WildCharger for example. This technology (wire-free charging solution) has actually been around for around a year already. The problem before was, it was only compatible with the Motorola Razr V3.

But now, it can be used with a wide variety of phone models from all major manufacturers like Nokia.

And just recently, WildCharge has released WildCharge Skins for the iPhone and iPod Touch!

WildCharge Skins are durable, protective, form-fitting cases that when placed on the WildCharger Pad, transfer wire-free power from the Pad to the device inside the skin. The soft cases provide the same protection consumers already enjoy from traditional skins, but have the added value and convenience of enabling a wire-free charge. – WildCharge

With this tie up with Apple, I’m guessing wireless charging will be a little more mainstream now since practically everyone owns an iPhone or an iPod Touch.

If you draw life-size iPhones and pretend they’re real iPhones, I think it’s a sign that you should run to the nearest Apple store, buy one and get over the obsession already.

Asus EEE PC. Of course, who can forget the Asus EEE PC. This little bugger started the whole Pocket PC In Your Purse fashion.

In exactly 3 hours and 19 minutes, the Gadgenista will officially start the year 2009!

So before I actually leave 2008 behind, here’s a recap of the most memorable (and most coveted) gadgets (for me anyway!) for 2008!

Asus EEE PC. Of course, who can forget the Asus EEE PC. This little bugger started the whole Pocket PC In Your Purse fashion.

MSI Wind. After the EEE PC, UMPCs just started sprouting every where. And frankly speaking, the MSI Wind was the one UMPC (aside from the EEE PC) that actually caught my eye. And it was because you can actually install OSX on it, making it the “Poor Man’s MacBook Air”!

MacBook Air. If there was a pageant for UMPCs, then the MacBook Air would definitely be Miss UMPC of the year. Everybody wanted one, even if it wasn’t exactly the “best” UMPC, technically speaking, around.

iPod. The iPod Nano had a lot of makeovers this year. From being sleek and shiny, to fat and aluminum-y, to extremely sleek and aluminum-y. And then ofcourse, there’s the iPod Touch.

RockBand and Guitar Hero World Tour. After that Guitar Hero Party that Blair Waldorf hosted in one of the Gossip Girl episodes last year, everyone wanted a Guitar Hero. But pfft, why have a solo guitar (ok, or maybe a duet) performance, when you can invite a couple of more friends over and have a Rock BAND party! In all honesty, the best parties I’ve attended this year are Rock BAND parties!

iPhone. Technically, the iPhone came out year 2007, but it was only in 2008 that the iPhone because usable to most countries!

That pretty much sums up the gadgets memorable to me!

What about you? What gadget was most memorable to YOU this 2008?

So there are some people who are actually trying to convince me to jailbreak my iPod touch.
And most of them say that it’ll open my experience to all the “great” applications out there.
Which leaves me to ask? What kind of “great” applications are you guys talking about?
When you say “great”, do you mean free? Or can I get those “great” applications by actually paying for them?
I’m still needing a little bit more of convincing!

I’m sure there are a number of people out there who got an iPhone or an iPod Touch for Christmas.
I’m one of them, and I’ve been contemplating whether to jailbreak my iPod Touch.
For one thing I’m thinking of getting an Apple Care Package (ACP) for the iPod Touch. I’ve learned my lesson from my last iPod. A couple of days after my last iPod’s one-year warranty expired, my old iPod’s dock port broke. I took it to the center and they said that replacing it would cost almost the same price as buying a new iPod. So there.

So there. If I had bought Apple Care, I’m sure they would have replaced my iPod right then and there.

Anyway, back to the topic. To jailbreak or not to jailbreak.

I’ve read that Jailbreaking voids the warranty. And if I plan to get the ACP then Jail breaking is totally out of the question.

BUT THEN, I’ve read that you can just restore the iPod Touch to factory setting and it’s as good as a fresh iPod.

BUT THEN, I’ve also read that some Apple centers can actually detect what softwares you’ve installed and if they find out you’ve installed the Jail Break, well, then say good bye to your warranty. Hm, I wonder if that even holds any truth to it, haha.

I’m a Mac user, too, so I really don’t see the point of jailbreaking my iPod Touch since it works totally fine with my computer.

I don’t have plans of changing the application and interface skins of the iPod Touch and I absolutely have NO plans of developing an app for the iPod Touch or iPhone either.

So, that really leaves me to ask, why do I have to jail break my iPod Touch?

I would understand jailbreaking an iPhone though since jailbreaking will make the iPhone an open line phone, but with the iPod Touch…

Hmmm….
