How many hours do you send in front of the computer every day?
I probably spend most (if not all) of my waking hours in front of the computer blogging, surfing the internet or playing World of Warcraft.
Ok, I do have a social life, mmkay? I do go out once in a while to have a few drinks with friends, but I do have to admit, I kind of like the hermit life, haha.
Anyway, lately, I noticed I’ve been getting frequent migraines and/or neck and shoulder pains. I’m guessing this is because of the time I’ve spent hunching over and squinting [...]
Post from: Gadgenista

How many hours do you send in front of the computer every day?

I probably spend most (if not all) of my waking hours in front of the computer blogging, surfing the internet or playing World of Warcraft.

Ok, I do have a social life, mmkay? I do go out once in a while to have a few drinks with friends, but I do have to admit, I kind of like the hermit life, haha.

Anyway, lately, I noticed I’ve been getting frequent migraines and/or neck and shoulder pains. I’m guessing this is because of the time I’ve spent hunching over and squinting in front of the computer, haha. I barely notice time flies by and the next thing I know, it’s like 12 midnight and it’s time to sleep!

So, I think it’s totally great that someone created this little program called Workrave to remind us that we do need to take a break from our daily computer activities, even if it’s for just a moment!

Workrave is a program that assists in the recovery and prevention of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). The program frequently alerts you to take micro-pauses, rest breaks and restricts you to your daily limit. The program runs on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows. – Workrave

Too bad it only works for Linux and Windows. I’m hoping a Mac version would come out soon!
