Caroline Chu makes skin care and beauty products for a wide range of skin types. The native of Taiwan got her start as a creative director for several Silicone Valley companies.  But after her daughter graduated from college, Chu left her lucrative career behind to create a line of elegant, natural and nourishing products.

And her goal is for Caroline Chu skin care products — made with alpha-hydroxy acids that gently exfoliate and purify the skin; glycolic acid for acne-prone skin; and botanical extracts — to appeal to all skin types and “bring out the best in women from fair to dark complexion.”

“While the condition of our skin changes based on various reasons such as climate, hormones, aging, and health,” she says, “What we use can be the greatest factor in preserving our natural beauty.”

For darker skin tones, Chu recommends using a sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher every day.  ”Many women with darker complexions might think they are less vulnerable to sun damage than lighter skinned women,” she explains.  ”But research has shown that sun damage still occurs.”

Caroline Chu products range from $28-$52 and are available at www.carolinechu.com.
