Ah. Makeup… Remember the days you’d go digging through your mom’s makeup kit/bag/drawer as a youngin’ just trying your hardest to look as ‘purdy’ as she did? I remember those days like it was yesterday.

Sadly, that WASN’T just yesterday as time keeps reminding me. Which brings me here. To review Elizabeth Arden’s new liquid makeup line, Intervene. Intervene what, you ask. Good question. I asked the same. Intervene TIME. Or at least, like Elizabeth Arden says, “Hit the pause button.” The tagline of the Intervene line reads: “Smoother skin, brighter complexion. Younger look.”

I’ll be honest, my first reaction was like, “Excuuuuse me? I don’t need to look younger! I’m a Hot Mama that can drop it like it’s hot with the rest of these young bucks, are you kidding me?!?” Then reality set in. Le sighhhhh…

No no, I kid. Honestly, I don’t think there is an age limit (within reason, of course) to wanting a smoother, more even complexion. And I’ve never personally used liquid makeup as part of my makeup “process” so I definitely curious to see what this was all about.

Since you know I’m your personal guinea pig, I’ve added some before and after pics for your viewing pleasure.

*Cringing* Oy… Looks like a passport photo don’t it? Look at under my eyes. Late night with my 14 month old the night before (true story), and it shows. Yeesh!

As an inexperienced liquid makeup user, I found the product to be true to it’s word of being light and really easy to apply. I am always leary of feeling like I have ‘cake’ on my face (which is why I would never use foundations, liquid or powder makeup) however, I didn’t feel that way at all with this product.

The Intervene makeup was smooth, sheer and most importantly light in touch and feel. I applied it using a small makeup sponge. So easy. And what I also liked about it is that I don’t look powdery and pale–you know what I mean right? Some makeup will leave you looking completely washed out. You see it for yourself above. No chalky look to my face, right?

All in all, the question I always ask myself after a product review is would I use the product again? My answer? Yes. The weightless-ness sold me and with the SPF 15, I’m soooo packing it in my makeup bag for my trip to Bermuda this spring! Trust.

Did I find the product easy to use and apply? Yep. Very. Just find the right shade for you and apply evenly. Click here for all the shades.

Would I recommend to friends and family? Absolutely. Already caught my mother-in-law eyeing mine (Hmph! Tee hee! :)
