Empire-Waist = Don’t Have to Buy Maternity

Finally! Finally a celebrity who understand. Christina Aguilera (if we forgive her make up faux-pas as of late) has been looking just too adorable during her pregnancy. She recently stepped out at a recent Rock The Vote event in an absolutely lovely NON-MATERNITY dress from Vanitas of California.

What makes it work for her with her Mama-To-Be belly, is very simple: the empire waist!

How ‘gorge’ is that dress? The cut, the flutter sleeves and even the color is just rich and beautiful.
Christina “gets it”. And here’s what she recently told People Magazine about her choice of style:
“I saw [Halle Berry] at a party, and I was like, ‘You’re completely right. Fashion is definitely on our [the pregnant woman's] side because the empire trend is totally working right now,’”
Um, Christina, actually, it’s been “working” not just “now”, but for at least the past year. And, are we really surprised that Christina is wise enough to take her fashion inspiration from My Style Queen, Halle Berry? I mean, really? Are we? Shoot, I’m not. I’ve said it once, twice, three times and hell I’ll say it again: Halle freakin’ rules with her fashion & style. Period.
I totally cheated throughout my pregnancy last year in buying lots of empire waist dresses and tops to wear both to work and outside of work. What I’ve been saying ever since (to anyone who’ll listen, really) is: empire waist ROCKS!! It’s the perfect maternity-friendly item.
And empire waist top/dress is probably one of the only things a woman can wear both pre-pregnancy and post-partum without mental traumatization. *Mumbling under breath* Unlike those blasted pants and jeans…

I CAN’T wait to get pregnant and look cute in these empire tops+dresses!!
They are sooo perfect for the growing bump!!
Yeah, but then again, pre-pregnancy she’s an itty bitty thing, probably size 00 like Eva Longoria that as a pregnant woman, she won’t have a problem filling into a woman’s regular size of let’s say 5, 6, 7 or 8. Must be nice..lol.
she looks great though. she needed that “meat” in her body
True, Dex, she is an itty bitty thing but the idea will still work for anyone of any size. I just can’t stand the idea of spending tons of $$$ for items you’ll only wear for a few months then put in storage for the ‘next pregnancy’. Know what I mean? Xtina does look great w/the extra “meat” though!
