Help Haiti with Jewelry with Dignity

New York designer Erica Simon’s newest collection is called “Diyite,” the Haitian word for “dignity.”  Simon is donating 25% of the collection’s sales to SOIL, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting soil resources, empowering communities, and transforming wastes into resources in Haiti — one of the poorest yet most culturally rich countries in the western hemisphere.

Simon’s inspiration for the collection came from a seed necklace from Haiti she received as a gift.  Her handcrafted Diyite necklaces ($160) are made with sterling silver, smoky quartz, and job’s tears, and represent her version of hand-made peonia-seed necklaces straight Haiti (also available for $16; 75% of proceeds will go directly to SOIL).

When Hot Mama Daily readers purchase a Diyite necklace, you will:

  • Support SOIL’s work in Haiti to promote hope, peace, dignity and transformation.
  • Make a cultural fashion statement inspired by the beauty of Haiti and proudly show your support for an important cause.
