Hippie-style Headwraps: Yea or Nay?

I don’t know where the idea came from, but I’m kinda obsessed with the idea of headbands/wraps tied around the forehead. Mind you, it truly is NOT a style for everyone. I haven’t tried it yet so I’m not sure it’s for me, and truth be told, it’s one of those fashion “things” that you can’t wear everywhere. I certainly couldn’t’ show up to a regular 9-5 type of job with it. I wouldn’t go to the supermarket wearing one, nor would I pick up my son from daycare with some damn strings tied to my forehead. My daycare provider would look at me like I had 10 heads. But I digress.

For the fashionistas who COULD get away with it, it can be quite cute. It’s very Mary-Kate Olsen-ish, (not that I aspire to dress like the Olsen twins–but I have to admit they do look cute from time to time. Who woulda ever thought that 2 child stars, that I used to watch on a popular sitcom back in the day, would grow to be such closely watched fashionistas???) Anyhoo…

I guess I’m attracted to it b/c it’s very rock star inspired. (Sidebar: with all the blog posts on my wanting to look like a rocker chick, shouldn’t I just go out and join a band already? This way, I can wear all the cool rock clothes I want…*thinking* hmm…)

Ok, so what say you Hot Mamas? Yea or Nay wearing headwraps neo-hippie style?
