Spring/Summer ‘07 Trend Alert: Short(er) Haircuts!

And, I must say, that after having long hair all of my life, I think I’m FINALLY ready to do the “Do” (get your mind out of the gutter, not that way!) But I’ve been saying this like crazy on my personal blog too: I’m ready for a change. And being a new mom will do that to you. Yes, you are sleep deprived. Yes, if you’re nursing, you feel like the life is drained out of you (quite literally). Yet, despite all of this, you feel ready to take on anything. Hot new clothes (perhaps those pre-pregnancy jeans will fit??), hot new shoes (yes! finally! some pumps after 9 months of flats/sneakers/low heels!), and a hot new hairstyle

A few celebs have taken up with shorter ‘do’s:

Actresses Michelle Williams, Elisha Cuthbert and Selma Blair

And my personal FAV FAV FAV (the one I’m going with!), R&B singer Rihanna:

Oh yeah…I’m soooo ready. Are you?

Nope, sorry. I’m afraid to take the plunge. I’m sticking to long hair with bangs :)

  2. Pascalle says:

HaHaHa! I know.. trust me I totally feel you on that b/c I’ve been saying for a month now how I’m gonna cut my hair and I have YET to do it…Can we all say “Procrastination”?

  3. dexie says:

    Do it, Do it..LOL

Seriously though, if I look like Posh afterwards, I’d probably would. But the chances of that happening is zilch to none. :)

  4. Love It! I went with a shorter cut (kinda an edgy layered bob) a few months ago and it looks amazing. I am so loving shorter hair…I always try to grow mine out thinking it is more sexy and faminie, but it just looks boring and mumsy once I do it!

  5. Cute gal says:

I LOVE short hair. And nothing tops short hair than a short hair, and pretty face. If you can pull it off, go ahead, it will liberate you. I have the pixie cut, and my hubby loves it and so does everyone else. Long hair can be fascinating on some and a drab on others. I am lucky to have been born with good features to do the short hair thing. GO FOR IT!

  6. ~meemee~ says:

i love rihanna’s hair!!!! i want mines like it

  7. marty says:

I cut my hair and I love it, use to have it Shakira style and now I have it Selma Blair style, just a little more curly, and im never going long again. I love it

  8. nik says:

go ahead and cut off your hair. women, for some reason, have this notion that long hair is sexy and beautiful, and I’ve seen some not so great long hair. cutting it all of it liberating, and sets you apart from others. take the plunge, cut it off, it’ll always grow back!

  9. Jordan says:

Yeah, I really want to cut my hair REALLY short, but I am afraid that I will look OLD or boyish. All of my friends have long hair so I will stand out. It is good to have girls like you all who support short sexy hair!

  10. Charmaine says:

I dont think its a big of a deal to cut your hair, but it definatly takes guts. And i cut off all my hair last year and now its all grown back!!!

  11. lou says:

I really want my hair done like Rihanna’s, but my mum says it won’t suit me. Shhe says it’s up to me!

    Do i get it done?

  12. Sweetleaf says:

Well Lou its your body and your free will. Just think about it and do what will make you happy… remember to have fun and no regrets.

  13. cynthia says:

I’m on and off with the whole short hair long hair, mines past shoulders and I’m goin out today to do rihanna style, time for short and edgy.
