Spring/Summer 2008 Trend Roll-Over: Gladiator Sandals

“Trend Roll-Over” – this is when a trend from the previous year (same season) “rolls over” to the next year (same season). Take for instance, the fold-over boot that we previously discussed. That was totally a trend roll-over. I don’t know how I concocted this

term, but I like it. It fits. Therefore it stays (watch how fast the term will get around the Internet. Guaranteed. Tee hee.)

So, we’ve seen the gladiator sandal before, right? Last spring/summer to be exact. Acutally one of my faaaav fashion sites WhoWhatWearDaily says it’s been ‘rolling over’ since 2005! Wow.

Here we are already February 1st and we’re already seeing hints of Spring everywhere (tell me you’ve been Winter Clearance shopping! Amazing right?!) Well, in regards to spring/summer fashion previews, Hot Mama Daily will be no different…especially since I just booked myself (and 9 other girlfriends) an extended all-girls weekend in beautiful Bermuda and need the proper attire and footwear for the occasion! Whoooooooohooooo! I. Cannot. Waittttt!

Soooo…since I’m currently shopping for goodies to bring with me to Bermuda, this means, when I SHOP, YOU SHOP, and I will pass along what I’m shopping for in regards to swimwear, hats, sandals and all that good stuff. You’ve been warned.

Anyhoo, this finally leads me back to the topic at hand: the gladiator sandal. Put simply I like ‘em b/c they remind me of my childhood. I had a short white pair that my mom bought me wayyyy back in the day and I wore the hell out of them. ‘Til they popped. I loved ‘em. That said, there’s no reason why I can’t buy a new pair for my ‘adult-hood’, n’est pas? Let’s do it! Here’s a few nice ones that I found online today:
