Sunday with Food Network’s Sunny Anderson

I’m a big Food Newtwork fan. I could spend hours watching pastry chefs anxiously move their five-foot-tall cake creations from their work station to a display table only a few steps away. Ah, the drama. Aside from the competitions, the Food Network is primarily a great place to pick up new recipes.

Food Network star Sunny Anderson
Sunny Anderson is one of the new Food Network stars. Her personality is bubbly and her style is sporty with a dash of hip-hop. I spent this morning watching the cheerful Cooking for Real host make salmon, garlic mashed potatoes, and a plum tart. As Rachael Ray would say, Yummo! As a pescetarian (I eat seafood but not red meat, pork, or poultry), I’m excited to find new fish recipes.
I’m not much of a cook, mainly by choice. But maybe I’ll try a modified version of Sunny’s “Corny Mango Salmon“ — she coated salmon with cornmeal and a mango glaze and fried; I would bake the fish and skip the mango glaze. And her plum tart recipe seems quick and easy.
Thanks for the Sunday morning inspiration Sunny. Now I’m hungry.
