America Ferrera is adorable, and I love her name.  Off the Ugly Betty set and on the red carpet, the charming young actress transforms from an awkward “ugly” duckling into a graceful swan.   Just look at her in this knock-out, rouched red dress and black pumps at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
 
But what a difference the occasion and time of day makes.  While shopping in NYC, a casually clad and makeup-less America looks more like a Glamour magazine ”don’t” than a glamour girl.

I watch a lot of TV.  Okay, I watch way too much TV, which is why I was hesitant to add yet another program to my weekly lineup.  Last night, however, I watched ABC and Salma Hayek’s “Ugly Betty” for the first time (I know, I’m like how many seasons behind?).  My best friend Cindy told me she thought I’d enjoy the show since it revolves around the fickle fashion world and costars Vanessa Williams as a diva, Anna Wintour-like fashion magazine editor.  She was right!
