It appears I’m in good company when it comes to wearing lots of black this year. I call it recession chic, but the truth is that black has always been the color of choice for dressy occasions.

The response to my post on Angela and Vanessa Simmon’s MTV show, “Daddy’s Little Girls,“ was great. So I know these lovely young ladies have quite a few Hot Mama Daily fans. The girls’ recently hosted a fashion show in Las Vegas, sponsored by Seventeen Magazine to spotlight their fun and flirty Pastry footwear and clothing.

Meet MTV’s “Daddy’s Girls”: Angela and Vanessa Simmons

I almost hate to admit it, but MTV’s “The Hills” is one of my guilty pleasures. Still, I’m disappointed by the show’s blatant lack of diversity. I suppose Audrina is the most “ethnic” girl on the show because she’s the only brunette in a sea of bottle blondes. So I looked forward to Whitney Port’s New York City spinoff, “The City,” where I thought for sure there’d be at least one woman of color represented in the cast. I was wrong.
