This was the summer of the short and shaved haircut.  Rihanna, Solange, and Cassie did it.  And so did Michelle Obama…well, sort of.  Last month we discussed how Michelle’s new ‘do was actually her hair pinned up to look like a short haircut.  Ciara has taken the hair trickery one step further.  Instead of committing to chopping her locks, the R&B star has been snapped at several red carpet events wearing a wig. And she’s been working a couple different variations.

I love the ’80s, but not all fashions from the “me” decade were meant to be recycled.  Take acid washed denim, for example.  Although maybe I should be, I’m not ashamed to admit I rocked a fuchsia jean jacket and matching jeans in junior high school.  Would I, however, dare to don acid wash today?  Negative.  
 
But if Ciara wants to wear acid washed jeans on the red carpet, far be it for me to criticize. I’ll leave that honor to you Hot Mama Daily readers.

Ciara’s third album, Fantasy Ride, is out May 5.  To promote her new, pop-leaning sound and more glamourous look, the foxy singer did a cover story for Women’s Wear Daily.  When it comes to fashion, I think I have pretty good taste. Style, however, is so subjective.
Below are photos of Ciara wearing really expensive designer clothes.  I have my thoughts….the phrase “fashion disaster” comes to mind a couple times.  But maybe I’m out of touch with what’s in vogue.
