“Dancing with the Stars” returns on September 21 with a new crop of B and C-list celebs ready to mambo, cha-cha, and waltz their way into the hearts of  the judges and viewing audience.  Among this season’s sixteen “stars” are quirky, Grammy-winner Macy Gray and pretty R&B starlet Mya.
 
 
I have high hopes for Mya, a fellow Maryland native who studied tap dance with Savion Glover, performed in the Oscar-winning film adaptation of the musical “Chicago,” and sang with Christina Aguilera and Pink and strutted her stuff in the video for the remake of “Lady Marmalade.”

She’s an ace on the tennis court, but try as she might, I don’t see any Best Dressed awards in Serena Williams’ future.  Here, Serena graces the red carpet at the ESPY awards in a green chiffon gown that looks more suitable for doing the Viennese waltz on “Dancing with the Stars” than it does for taking paparazzi shots.
 
 
Although it’s a nice gown, I think it’s too formal for this sports achievement awards show.  And is anyone else distracted by Serena’s extremely muscular arms?

The MTV Movie Awards wasn’t that eventful…except for “Twilight” winning a bunch of awards and Sacha Baron Cohen giving Eminem, um, an eyeful during an awkward stunt.  The red carpet fashion and hairstyles, however, were anything but boring.

The spring break countdown has begun and I’m determined to tone up and head to a sunny beach destination before the season ends.  Heck, I’ll even settle for an outdoor pool.  
My legs are naturally shapely, but not as firm as they once were, so what’s a Hot Mama to do?

Will you be watching Lil’ Kim flaunt her ballroom dance moves on tonight’s two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars“?  I certainly will.  In case you haven’t noticed, I watch a lot of television and “Dancing” is another one of my must-see TV guilty pleasures.
The naughty rapper, former prison inmate, and poster child for bad plastic surgery, however, seems like an unlikely casting choice for the series which has featured less scandalous women of color including singer Toni Braxton, ex-Spice Girl Mel B, and actress Vivica A.
