Jennifer Lopez knows how to make an award show entrance and she worked the red carpet last night at the Golden Globe Awards.  Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer may have been given the official title, but Jennifer literally looked like ”Miss Golden Globe.”  Not many women can pull off such a bold color, but I think Jennifer is a stunner in this gold, plunge-neck Marchesa gown. Wisely she knew to keep her hair, makeup, and accessories simple.

Eva Longoria Parker may play one on TV, but she’s no desperate housewife.  The actress is usually flawless on the red carpet, and I love the aqua blue jewel collar dress she wore to the recent Critics’ Choice Awards.

Although the jewel collar trend has been around for a few seasons, it’s still going strong and has transformed from gaudy and costume-like to a funky and sophisticated formal look.  I couldn’t find a dress in the same standout color as Eva’s, but I found a few stylish jewel collar dress options that will give every Hot Mama a Hollywood makeover.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Rosario Dawson for Essence magazine several years back when she was promoting the film version of “Rent.”  The sexy Latina is even prettier in person and she’s super nice.  So I had high hopes for the native New Yorker’s dress selection for Tuesday’s Hollywood premiere of “Seven Pounds,” in which she co-stars with Will Smith.

Unfortunately, I’m not crazy about this one-sleeved, canary (or is it beige?) mini shift.  It looks like one of her sleeves was accidentally chopped off and it should either have two sleeves or be completely strapless.  The way it is now, the one sleeveless side oddly accentuates one of her boobies.  

I also think the color is too close to her honey skin tone, the hemline looks gathered, and the length isn’t formal enough for a red carpet closeup.

Speaking of Rihanna and heels (see previous post), this is what the trendy singer wore during a casual afternoon stroll in La La Land with family and friends.   Umm, I could have sworn she was auditioning for Tina Turner’s part in a remake of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

Although I’m all for avant garde fashion, I can’t vouch for these good girl gone wild gladiator stilettos.  What do you think?  Is Rihanna taking a fashion step forward or making a style misstep?
