Target’s Designer Style for Fall

Target  is one of my favorite places to shop and a department store known for its affordable style. For fall, the retailer has partnered with several top designers on exclusive clothing and accessories’ lines.  Hot Mama Daily got a sneak peak before they hit Target stores.  Here’s the scoop:

Anna Sheffield’s exclusive costume jewelry for Target debuted in stores August 30 and is available until December 30.  The New York-based designer’s edgy yet elegant line offers a mix of vintage and contemporary pieces in an array of stones and sterling silver.  I’m fond of the Charm Hoop Earrings ($39.99) and the …read more

New Spanx for Fall and Spring!

Yesterday I went to a Spanx press preview in Manhattan, where Allie, one of the Georgia-based company’s lovely publicists walked me through all of the fun and flirty collections for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010.
Here are a few highlights:

The new Assets Marvelous Mama line (available at Target, Ann Taylor LOFT, and Dillard’s) includes bump-boosting Assets Maternity Unbelievable Underwear ($20), Assets Maternity Terrific Tights ($18), and Assets Maternity Perfect Pantyhose ($14).

Beat the Recession with Funky Vintage Finds

Every Hot Mama should have a side hustle or two.  Mine are freelance writing and operating two stores on Etsy.com.  Technically, Etsy is for handcrafted wares, but they also allow vintage clothing sellers.  My vintage store, Tracy’s Pop & Shop Too, is a companion to my thread/string earring store, Tracy’s Pop & Shop.

I love to shop, particularly at consignment shops, flea markets, clothing swaps (if you haven’t gotten in on this free trend yet, ladies, what are you waiting for?), thrift stores, and fashion-forward discount retailers like H&M, Target, and Forever 21.  And I launched my Etsy stores a couple years …read more

Hot Pick: Boots Original Lemon Body Wash

It’s been a cruel, sticky summer in New York City.  Not just outside, where air quality alerts have become common.  Waiting for the subway train in humid, air-
condition-less stations has also diminished my “Raise your hand if you’re sure” confidence.
That’s where Boots Original Beauty Formula Lemon Body Wash comes in. This reviving wash infused with stimulating lemon oil and enriched with hydrating glycerin helps keep me feeling and hopefully smelling fresh when the heat is on.

Here Comes the Budget Bride

Wedding season is upon us and brides-to-be can get a jump on finding the perfect dress for less with a little help from Target.  The retailer’s website is where you’ll find Isaac Mizrahi’s exclusive wedding dresses – on sale for as low as $31!
Okay, I’m not really feeling the big pink sash and bow on this otherwise stunning Strapless Sheath Dress.  But for such a nice price you could wear the dress sans sash or as an alternative purchase the sash in Opal Cream.
