Sheree Whitfield is one of the sexy, sassy “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”  I’m not ashamed to admit the Bravo show is must see TV in my Brooklyn abode.  So I was thrilled to interview the mother of three prior to the two-part second season reunion special, which she calls “a shocker.”

I like being on the front line of any fashion or retail event.  Yesterday, I braved the crowds at the grand opening of the only JC Penney store in Manhattan.  Any place else in the U.S. a JC Penney opening would not inspire chaos, but when department stores that suburbanites take for granted open in New York City, shoppers go crazy.

I’m a huge fan of the Bravo “Real Housewives” franchise.  Although the back-biting New York and table-flipping New Jersey editions will be hard to top, I bet my favorite ladies — “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” — are up for the challenge.  If the Bravo teasers are any indication, the “Peachtree state” divas are back with a vengeance.
Lips bustin’/lashes poppin’NeNe is keepin’ it real as usual, and apparently the love fest between bimbo, aspiring country singer Kim and snobby, aspiring fashion designer Sheree is kaput.

I prefer the “Real Housewives” to “Desperate Housewives,” but I can give girl props where props are due.  And Eva Longoria Parker is no slouch in the wardrobe department.  I especially like this tube dress with a red halter top half and black and white striped bottom half.  
 
 
The red clutch perfectly accents the dress.  My only styling tips are I wish she’d worn her hair up in a pony and picked funkier shoes to give the already trendy dress a more youthful vibe.  Instead of the big silver hoops, a chunky necklace would have also kicked this look up …read more

Overall, 2008 was a good year.  I had my dream wedding and didn’t spend a fortune (read my budget bride story for the New York Daily News), honeymooned in the Bahamas, and visited Italy, Bermuda, and Las Vegas (travel always makes me happy).  Personal highlights aside, 2008 was also a great year for style and pop culture.  Here, I recap my favorite Hot Mama moments:
