While doing my periodic Etsy check, I came across this unique engagement ring that makes me want to get married all over again; or at least give my husband a major hint come anniversary time.
This modern and luxurious 18 karat Gold, Silver, and Chocolate Diamond Ring ($585) by JesseDanger features a band hand-crafted from recycled Argentium Silver, and the 18kt yellow gold bezel holds a beautiful .25ct round chocolate diamond.
For those not going to the chapel, the Vermont-based designer also makes eye-catching cocktail rings like this Silver Asymmetry Ring with Quartz ($85) made with recycled Argentium Silver and a lovely, …read more
Hot Pick: Jewelry Inspired by True Blood

I’m late to the blood lust party, but I recently watched the first season of “True Blood” on Netflix. Although I’m not a devout fan yet, I sure like that spunky Sookie Stackhouse and her ‘tude-ready best friend Tara. But I love HBO’s new “True Blood”-inspired jewelry, designed in collaboration with Udi Behr, Chief Designer for Love Peace and Hope.
The sexy collection made its debut at the HBO Luxury Lounge® during the 61st Primetime Emmy® Awards on September 20th, and was inspired by “True Blood”s alluring vamps. Signature pieces include bracelets, leather cuffs, necklaces, rings and earrings in an edgy …read more
A Bejeweled Garcelle Beauvais: Hot or Not?
April 26, 2009 by Tracy Hopkins

It takes a confident woman to pull off this show-piece, jeweled necklace and uniquely cut, strapless white dress. Obviously, the beautiful Garcelle Beauvais doesn’t lack confidence.
Although the bold necklace might work better paired with a strapless black dress, the actress shows she’s not afraid to stand out by wearing the multi-colored jewels with a draped white dress with a scandalously high front split (or something that resembles a split).
I think she looks smokin’ hot. My husband thinks she’s wearing a towel.
What’s your vote? Does Madam Beauvais look Hot or Not?

New York designer Erica Simon’s newest collection is called “Diyite,” the Haitian word for “dignity.” Simon is donating 25% of the collection’s sales to SOIL, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting soil resources, empowering communities, and transforming wastes into resources in Haiti — one of the poorest yet most culturally rich countries in the western hemisphere.
Simon’s inspiration for the collection came from a seed necklace from Haiti she received as a gift. Her handcrafted Diyite necklaces ($160) are made with sterling silver, smoky quartz, and job’s tears, and represent her version of hand-made peonia-seed necklaces straight Haiti (also available for $16; 75% of proceeds …read more

I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’m an Avon lady… an avid Avon shopper that is. Lately I’ve been delightfully surprised by the stylish accessories available in Avon’s online store.
Check out these expensive-looking “Cluster Drop Earrings.” I picked up a pair in white last month when they were on sale for $5.99, but they’re still a steal for only $9.99.
At two inches long, the earrings can be easily dressed up or down. I like mine so much I may purchase them in coral and turquoise.

Colorful Thread Earrings for Spring

I fell in love with this style of colorful earrings made with thread while vacationing in Brazil. I made a beeline for the earrings when I spotted them near Ipanema Beach. When I returned home and wore the thread earrings around New York City, I received so many compliments that I started selling them as a side hustle.
Several years later, the trendy handcrafted earrings are still in fashion and a favorite with big city stylistas and TV stars like “American Idol” Season 7 contestant Syesha Mercado (see below photo).
