Mineral makeup has never really been my thing, but there are a few exceptions to that rule, including glominerals. I recently had a chance to do an e-mail Q&A with the line’s product developer, Cat Tatman - check out the interview below and be sure to leave a comment with any follow up questions that you have about the line or mineral makeup – I’ll do my best to get them answered by an expert!
What inspired the start of glominerals?
gloProfessional has always worked with licensed skincare professionals, i.e. plastic surgeons, dermatologists, aestheticians. There was a need for a cosmetic line that was healthy for the skin, that didn’t clog pores (no talc- talc is the main ingredient in traditional cosmetics) and offered therapeutic benefits such as UV protection and antioxidant benefits. These skincare experts needed a cosmetic line that could be applied after procedures like laser treatments and chemical exfoliation-but also could be worn on the daily basis to nurture and maintain the healthy skin of their clients.
What differentiates the line from all of the other mineral makeup collections, high and low?
glominerals uses only purest, pharmaceutical grade ingredients. In addition, glominerals starts with the most refined minerals and then triple mills them…resulting in products that deliver the most natural looking, flawless coverage that lasts all day.
Is mineral makeup a trend or is it here to stay? Why?
Mineral makeup is here to stay; women are demanding more from their makeup now than just color. They want makeup that lasts longer, but also offers healthy skincare benefits.
Are there skin types that benefit from mineral makeup more than others?
All skin can benefit from mineral makeup- everyone’s skin benefits from UV protection. In addition, those with skin conditions such as acne or rosacea can benefit because mineral makeup will not clog pores which should improve these conditions.

Is there a makeup must have for fall that all women should add to their stash?
Red lipstick or metallic eyes. For fall, glo is launching a metallic smoky eye kit and mini metallic pencils (above) as well as a gorgeous ruby lip crayon.

Mineral makeup is really great, but the truth is that there are skin types that do not benefit from mineral makeup. I myself fell great wearing a mineral-makeup, but my friend’s skin, for instance, can’t stand it.
thanks for this!.. some great tips/advice here, thanks again

Does this line contain synthetic dyes and fragrances or parabens?
Hi Alanna,
I am going to check on parabens, but here’s the info that I have -”talc-free, non-comedogenic and free of perfumes and chemical dyes”
