Dina Fierro

Dina's lifelong love affair with all things beautiful began at an early age when she used her mother's Revlon Cherries in the Snow lipstick to paint her entire face red. Today, Dina's learned enough about beauty to understand that lipstick belongs on the lips (and perhaps red isn't her color after all). She contributes regularly to several online and print publications including AM New York, luxury e-zine juli b and her own fashion and style blog, eye4style. Dina lives (and shops) in NYC.

For the Love of Prescriptives!

Beauty junkies everywhere received a bit of bad news in September – Prescriptives, a cult favorite line revered for its custom blend products, fantastic skincare and iconic Calyx fragrance, will cease distribution at the end of January 2010. Although Prescriptives is preparing to bid farewell, the brand wants to ensure that you, yes YOU, are able to secure your favorites for as long as they’re available, so they’ve launched a Twitter channel. By following Prescriptives on Twitter, you’ll receive quick answers to any and all product-related questions. You’ll also get the inside scoop on their Lustre Holiday color collection (think luxurious, shimmering color and gorgeous glimmering golds!) and as well as the latest... [Read more]

Last month, I wrote about one of my favorite new lip products,L’Oréal Paris’ Infallible Plumping Lipgloss. This gloss has it all – it delivers color, plumping and shine with major staying power. Not to mention, I found out just today that one of my fave young actresses, Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl, loves it too! Is it wrong that that makes me love it more? Leighton said, “L’Oréal Paris’ Infallible Plumping Lipgloss in Plumped Red gives me that extra little color and boost when I really want my lips to pop.” What do you think of Leighton’s cherry red lip? [Read more]

Holiday 2009: Borghese Nail Lacquer

Borghese is feeling festive this season, and their newest limited-edition holiday Nail Lacquer collection, Festivo, proves it. Dominated by cool metallics and rich jewel tones, what I like most about this collection is its wearability . For a flashy effect (think New Year’s Eve!), choose from shades like Prima Platinum – a sleek silver infused with glitter, and Gusto Golddust, a rich, yellow gold with a sparkle finish. For a bolder look, choose from shades like Ecstasi Indigo – a deep blue with a hint of shine, or Brava Blackberry – a rich, shimmering shade of maroon. For classic red holiday nails with a twist, try Festivo Fuschia and Magnifico Magenta – two bright shades of red that are sure to make a classic statement when... [Read more]

Must Buy: Erickson Beamon for Beauty.com

The newest designer bag collaboration from Beauty.com invites famed jewelry designers Karen Erickson and Vicki Beamon to transform the traditional cosmetic tote into a glittering gift with purchase this holiday season. Legendary for their runway collaborations with designers such as Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Dior, and Givenchy, Erickson Beamon is the first jewelry house to be featured in the gift with purchase designer bag series – and my personal favorite to date! The bag itself features whimsically printed duchess satin, a bijoux zipper pull, embossed gold logo tassel, and lace and pearl embellishments. It’s spacious, but portable enough for easy holiday travel. Of course, it’s not all about the bag. Included in the gift with... [Read more]

Double Agent: Jemma Kidd Mannequin Skin

I’m a sucker for a beauty product with multiple uses and Jemma Kidd’s new Mannequin Skin Illuminating Concealer fits the bill. Jemma Kidd’s signature collection is sold at luxury boutiques, but this dual ended illuminating cream and stick concealer is a Target exclusive. While I find both ends useful, the illuminating cream is a particularly nice formula…not too shimmery or glittery, just the perfect bit of light to add to the inner and outer corners of your eye. The concealer is a light, creamy formula that covers nicely, however I needed to layer over a primer to avoid creasing. The packaging on Mannequin Skin is sleek and pretty, so tuck this one in your purse for a quick  jolt of happy with every touch up. Snag it... [Read more]
