great tutorial! good advice yoyosushi3, another option if you are worried about powder making your undereyes look more wrinkly (like me ;-) ) you can also do your eyes first, remove any smudges underneath & then conceal. it works wonders for me.

That tutorial seems to be right on the money. Before i started reading all these how-to blogs, I would always do the smokey eye look with only dark colors. I never knew how important a good base and light higlighting colors were!

A tip I would add is to put extra powder underneath your eyes to catch all the excess powder that will come from the black shadow. This way you can brush it off when your done and you'll be left with a nice, lightly powdered face!

Thanks for the step-by-step breakdown. The photo accompanying the tutorial is subtle and alluring. I'm going dancing tomorrow night, will definitely follow Gabriela's suggestions.

I'm going to have to try this technique asap (tonight), it's so gentle and pretty. I've always gone the liquid liner-on-the-lid route but this looks so much easier.

I really should try that, I always overdo a smokey eye and end up wiping it all off before I go out. It's easy to go overboard when you're blond and have very fair skin....I think the grey suggested would work well though.
