Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup

I have an uneven skin tone, and honestly, I don’t know too many people with the perfect complexion. I am always on the hunt for a product that will transform my blotchy skin and make it look flawless.

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to liquid Foundation, I have a love hate relationship with it. Not a fan of greasy Foundations or those that look like they match my skin tone, but then either end up being too light making me look pale and sickly or too dark making me look like an orange in the produce section of WalMart.

So when I heard about Clinique’s new line of Foundation, Perfectly Real Makeup, I was quite skeptical. I decided to try out Shade #4. When I first began to apply this Foundation with my foam wedge, it almost appeared to be translucent. I didn’t see any difference in my skin and honestly, it didn’t look like I had on any Foundation at all. However, I continued to smooth it over my face and suddenly noticed that it began to come to life. The redness that haunts my face suddenly disappeared. My skin tone finally looked even.

This Foundation is also very lightweight and didn’t feel heavy or look cakey. It also did not feel greasy at all.

I’m very pleased that I got a match on the first try. Clinique’s Perfectly Real Makeup comes in 26 shades and even has a color chart for you to see which color would be perfect for your skin tone.

This Foundation is a must have for me. Has anyone else tried this Foundation? Please post your thoughts!

    I absolutely agree with Shannon.

The Clinique perfectly real make up worked wonders with my skin. I really didn’t like the feel of other liquid foundations because of the stickiness that made it uncomfotable and noticable.

At the time I was using the matte mousse from maybelline, because of it’s smooth feel. However, I found that that made my skin break out and look bad.

I first used Cliniques foundation I was instantly amazed. After being first attracted to this product because of it being a more ideal qualities for bad skin, I realised how smooth it felt when being a liquid foundation.

I would definately recommend this product as it has made me feel more confident with myself and complextion, and is great for a non sticky, liquid foundation.

Hi Caris, thank you for stopping by and posting a comment. :)

I JUST TRIED THE PERFECTLY REAL MAKE UP , I THINK I AM SOLD .GOOD JOB CLINQUE. SHERRY

  4. I just tried a sample of Perfectly Real I got from Sephora when I ordered some Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (my now former favorite.)
I am completely sold on the Perfectly Real and am running out right now to get a whole bottle.

I purchased shade 02 and I love the feel of it. My only problem is that I think my face looks red when compared to my neck line. It’s not a HUGE difference and it’s barely noticable (I only found out when I was in a REALLY bright bathroom). Does anyone know why that is? I still like Clinique and I need to head back to Macy’s and get another bottle! Also to find out what this red-face-ness is.

Okay, based on your review, Shannon, this is also going to go on my list of “must-try”s for my foundation hunt! My skin is just so uneven, but this sounds like it could really help me out while still looking natural. Thanks!

Jenni, perhaps you have a light case of rosacea? I heard Purpose lotion has a really good moisturizer that tones down the redness in some skin. Perhaps you could give that a try?

My friend Krissy swears by this make up. After i finish my everyday minerals, i’m going to give this one a try. I hope i like it as much as everybody else does!

  8. Debbie says:

Right now my go to foundation is Bare Minerals which is a powder. I’m not really good with liquid foundations, i just couldn’t find one that I could work with. I’m going to Macy’s tomorrow and will stop by the clinique counter to take a look. A girl can never have too much makeup!

  9. Ashley Samantha says:

I tried perfectly real in about November and didn’t really like it, it just seemed to oily for my skin which is weird cause in the fall/winter I have dry skin. But, I found something like Perfectly Real which is Clinique’s Supermoisture which works great, it isn’t overly greasy either and I thought it would be.

  10. Julie says:

I tried this out yesterday, and it didn’t match my skin color! Made me look very yellowed out. So I’m sad, especially cause I was excited from y’all’s reviews.

  11. Bella says:

I saw this girl working at Macy’s and I thought, “I wish my skin looked like hers.” So I asked her what foundation she had on. She told me , Perfectly Real. I took a sample of it and on Easter Sunday I wore it with my skin looking JUST LIKE HERS! I am so glad finally found the right one with so many out there. I strongly recommend to Julie to take back what she bought and get the right color.

  12. Olivia says:

I tried Perfectly Real and loved it, despite the fact that I never wore foundation because it usually felt heavy and looked cakey. If the shade doesn’t match, I would go to the Clinique counter and ask a Consultant (in the white lab coat) to skin type you and help find your correct shade. Clinique also has products for rosacea!

  13. jessica says:

i am looking for a foundation that it could cover my redness in my cheeks/ i want to use the foundation and the powder

  14. Julia says:

I am a beauty therapist and have tried an endless number of foundations, mineral powders, compacts and everything else in between. Last week I purchased the #24 in the perfectly real foundation and love it to pieces!!! For my skin which has a yellow undertone and olive complexion this was a brilliant match. The cosmetics assistant at the counter was excellent in helping match my colour perfectly!! Hint to all of you out there that get a ‘too pink’ or a ‘too yellow’ face, this is because the colour is not matched to you correctly. This should always be tested on the jaw line to make sure it blends with both your face and your neck. With all the shades in the range, you shoud find one right for you. And make sure you check the colour in natural light, not under the fluros at the counter. Go outside to the carpark with a mirror if you have to! Theres nothing worse than having a foundation that leaves you pink faced!!

  15. Jess says:

Yes, this has got to be the best I think of all the foundations I have ever tried and for the flawless results, it is reasonable in price.

  16. Jacqueline says:

I liked this the first day I got it, but within a few days of daily wear I started breaking out. I don’t understand why because I always use a primer. this happened with a powder foundation from Clinique too.

  17. Ashley says:

I love how this foundation not only covers well, but it stop the shinny-ness and absorbs oil, I love it!

  18. krivas2 says:

i love it too but too bad its making me brake out :( .. why do u think its making me brake out?
