Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss

Clinique superbalm moisturizing glossClinique’s theme for Spring is about looking “fresh-faced.” From their newest Blushing Blush down to their palette of soft buttery colors for eyes, the look is about a minimal makeup look and a healthy glow.

Clinique’s Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss is a part of that themed look, and as I write this post with it hydrating my lips, I can’t help but feel like Spring is peaking out around the corner (who am I kidding? it’s 20 degrees here!)

The new Superbalm is lip balm with color. With the exception of the colorful Raspberry, the remaining 6 colors are a very neutral range of colors broken down into 4 categories–nudes, tawnies, pinks and violets. On my lips, Ginger (a nude) looks very natural–a slight hint of color with a superb shine. Not tacky or sticky, yet a great full coverage lip balm to boot.

You can find it at www.clinique.com for $13.50

Also, did you know that Clinique is coming to QVC starting today? Be sure to watch them from 6pm-8pm EST!

  2. Beth says:

I still cant believe that Clinique is on qvc! when Smashbox to qvc, the dept store counters lost a ton of business & most MUAs werent very happy (btw i am a MUA ;-) many of my co-workers at that counter were very sad :-( ) good thing for Clinique clientele tho! :D

How does this compare to the MAC lip conditioners, particularly the tinted ones?

I have also just used this gloss! I have “apricot” and it really does deliver on the shine! However I wish the color was a little more pigmented but it does keep the look very natural.

The texture is smooth as buttah and does moisturize well. Definately a good lippie to tote around!

  6. Shannon says:

Julie, I’ve never tried MAC’s lip conditioners, but thu described this balm pretty well in her comment.

  7. Debbie says:

i Shannon i know what you feel like. Everything”spring and summer” inspried is out, but it’s 30 degrees where i’m at. it only makes me look forward to the summer.

I love this stuff! But, I think there may be some tics with it. My favorite color that I use is Apricot. I was @ my local Clinique counter the other day and noticed that their Apricot seemed a little odd. I just happened to have mine in my purse and pulled it out for comparison – mine was still as pretty as the 1st day I bought it. Theirs had turn a greige color that weirded me out.
    Maybe it got contaminated?

  9. Shannon says:

Ashley, I would say that if it was a sample balm–most likely yes. That’s why I never trust the samples on the counters of any store. Yucko.

  10. Ashley Samantha says:

Ugh, yeah that’s what I thought. I try to avoid sample glosses. I let the MUA in attendance know and she immediately pulled it – Thank God. It was probably their original sample from that particular line.
Fun blog by the way! I lurk all the time and never comment.

  11. Trisha says:

ew ashley that sounded gross, ive worked as a mua for years & always check products for “nastys”. open access product always freak me out too, i double check everything thats in peoples reach. i do recommend that if you do try out lip products to have them use their “backup” set, most (ok some) counters have that some out of reach of customers for just that reason.

  12. Trudi S. says:

The limited bare pinks powder blush looks very good and would go well with my tawny complexion.

  13. Kristen says:

Clinique is the best. A little pricey I think for gloss, I’m used to drug store finds…but Clinique is worth it.
