Fall Beauty Trend: Dark Lips

Just as I absolutely hated (and I mean hated) the bold eyebrow, I am already over the dark lip for fall. Not only do I think it makes you look like Morticia Adams…or Elvira (take your pick), but again it really isn’t a universal trend that looks good on everyone (Ok because Chanel Iman always looks good).

2008 beauty trend dark lips

I know this trend is all about contrast and drawing attention to your pout, but I don’t want to be so quickly reminded of my Junior year in Mr. Muddiman’s class with Goth-chick Misty sitting in front of me. Great girl, but I was scared as hell of her super white skin (I swear she used baby powder for foundation!) and black lipstick.

The dark lip fall beauty trend definitely falls in line with the fall fashion trend of Goth Glam. I get it…but I don’t like it.

What do you think? Do you love it or hate it?

  1. I love the dark lip trend, but I agree, not everyone can pull it off.

Then again, I happen to think I’m someone who can :)

I think it looks great paired up with a bold black eyeliner and soft eye shadow.

    Btw, happy belated birthday!

I agree, these dark colors just wont work with me. but I think they look fabulous when they do.

  3. Shades are trendy no doubt, but i don’t think that any other women will prefer these shades besides models…….lol…..They are very very dark to look at..But ladies are looking gud wearing these shades..

  4. Toya says:

I’m loving the look and can’t wait to rock it!
